American Apparel Finally Use Their Campaigns For A Good Cause

American Apparel are known for their advertising campaigns and more often than not it's not for the right reasons. The LA-based company have resorted to showing public hair and nipples to get people talking but now for the first time their campaigns are actually doing something constructive.

Last week they unveiled these images promoting a line of 'Pride' tees made in partnership with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Defamation (GLAAD). To front the campaign they booked ANTM alum Isis King, who you'll remember was the first transgender model to appear on the show.

Lea T Set To Reveal Her Story To Oprah

This week, news broke that Lea T has landed a spot on one of the last episodes of Oprah - when the model is set to tell her story. But the news didn't come as a surprise. The Imagist hinted at the move last month, revealing that the star has booked "an upcoming appearance on the biggest talk show in America."

Since Ricardo Tisci included her in the Givenchy Fall ad campaign, the transgender model - who was formerly Tisci's assistant - has dominated magazines and campaigns and most notably appeared in a nude shoot for French Vogue. According to WWD, Tisci saw the model as embodying “the masculine-feminine dichotomy that has become one of his design signatures and follows coed casting for his Paris runway last March.”

One can't help but think that Lea's success is what Tyra Banks had evisonned for America's Next Top Model contestant Isis King.

Unfortunately we still have a while to wait to see the interview in full. According to ELLE.com, the segment hasn't been taped yet but is set to air in February.
