Alexa Chung Designing For J.Crew's Madewell

When MTV pulled the plug on Alexa Chung's 'It's on with Alexa Chung' show last year (despite its success), we wondered what the future held for the British style icon. Although she's still under contract with MTV, it looks like Ms Chung will temporarily be taking up a new role as she joins forces with J.Crew's Madewell range. Given how bright her star is, and the fact that she is undoubtedly one of the best-dressed celebrities of our generation, it was only a matter of time before a label snapped her up. Why Madewell? Chung told Vogue.com: "When I moved to New York, Madewell asked to meet me. I went in and I liked the company. Everything about our meeting was very organic and casual; not full on. They were open to suggestions."

The collection will be available in September and will feature "things my girlfriends would wear, and say 'That's sick!'" With this in mind, expect high-waisted pants and jeans, velvet dresses with Peter Pan collars, and "dungaree dresses...I want to bring back '40s tea dresses, '60s mod dresses...I want to bring cute back," she explained. The chance to dress in clothes designed by one of our favourite style crushes - perfection!

Alexa Chung Finds A New Gig

Her American MTV show, "It's On With Alexa Chung," was recently cancelled, but it looks like Ms Chung is still keeping her work calendar busy. She's the model for Pepe Jeans' Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign, which got her in front of Tom Munro's lens with male models Tom Guinness and Boyd Holbrook.

The campaign is accessible and full of attitude, but we can't help but think that the new shots aren't as provocative as those from seasons past. Then again, since previous campaigns have featured Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Daria Werbowy, Natalia Vodianova, Cristiano Ronaldo and professional Twitter user Ashton Kutcher, the competition's pretty stiff.

Alexa Chung Living The Model Life?

We had to do a double take when we first saw these pictures. I mean, we know Alexa Chung started out as a model, but we had forgotten, given all that she has accomplished since she left T4's sofa. Currently filming her show, 'It's on with Alexa Chung', which has been so much of a success that MTV even gave her a second season, this multi-talented lady definitely has many strings to her bow, including DJ-ing, presenting, designing and modelling.

Dressed in a series of outfits courtesy of Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana and Stella McCartney, Ms Chung experty poses and pouts her way through the shoot, which was photographed by Sharif Hamza for V Magazine. And as if this wasn't enough, she has just landed the DKNY Jeans ad campaign for this season. With all these balls to juggle, the only question left to be answered is whether life could possibly get better right now for Ms Chung? We certainly hope so!

'It's On With Alexa Chung' Show Coming To The UK

Alexa Chung has been making waves across the pond since her daytime show, 'It's On With Alexa Chung', debuted earlier this year. The show sees Ms Chung interviewing a string of A-list celebrities including Cameron Diaz, P.Diddy and Sienna Miller, to name but a few, in her no-nonesense yet laid back technique.

Having impressed MTV bosses enough to land herself a second series, it was only a matter of time before the show would be aired in the UK. Our wish has been granted as MTV is due to launch the show on the 7th September and will run four episodes a week on Monday to Thursday at 4pm. With 19 episodes ready and waiting to be aired it would be wise to get the Sky+ ready.
