Singer-actresses Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez had very different visions of the ideal Oscars red-carpet look tonight. Carey said she was trying to avoid a "Marilyn moment" in her blue Valentino gown, while Lopez went space-age in Armani Prive.

It would be hard for Jennifer Lopez to claim she's still Jenny from the Block after seeing her in this number at the Noche de Ninos Gala in Beverly Hills last night. We take issue with her facial expression (can someone popularise a new pose for women? perhaps the old-fashioned "smile"?), but what do you think of her look?
