Kiefer Sutherland should be in a tip-top mood this week, now that the Manhattan district attorney has rejected its case against him. Remember way back in May when Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough was headbutted at the Met Gala? Yeah. The DA saw that as a whole lot of nothing, according to TMZ.

In addition, the LA city attorney has also decided the matter was petty and will not mark it as a violation of Sutherland's probation from his DUI conviction. Even though he got off safe, kids, remember: Headbutting isn't nice.

Fashion leader Chloe Sevigny chose a black-leather Proenza Schouler jumpsuit for the launch party of of A Magazine, and she told the NY Observer: "I feel a bit like a super-slut superhero." OK then.

Proenza designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez guest edited an issue of the Belgian mag and awarded Sevigny the cover, so perhaps it was only natural to have her push the style boundaries at the fete.

Hernandez thinks his "super-slut superhero" is just fine. "That's why she's Chloe Sevigny!" he said.

Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough eschewed the runway for their 2010 pre-collection, instead choosing an avant-garde art installation to show off their latest clothes, shoes and accessories. At Florence's Pitti W, three of the designers' favourite contemporary artists - Kalup Linzy, Haim Steinbach and Kembra Pfahler - helped with the display.

Steinbach was in charge of an accessory installation, which (naturally) also included a metal bed frame, dog toys and plastic onions. Linzy showed two music videas, which featured cameos from Liya Kebede and Chloe Sevigny. Pfahler gathered up go-go girls wearing Proenza, and he (wearing a bustier from the brand and thigh-high boots) sang his heart out with his bottom out. Hernandez couldn't keep a straight face.

Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez achieved a major milestone this week by being named Accessory Designers of the Year at the 2009 CFDA Awards. Today, the Belgian publication A Magazine's ninth issue, which they guest edited, comes out. They're the first Americans to do the job, so not bad.

A different guest editor oversees A Magazine each season, and the Proenza boys aren't shy about pointing out their milestone. Martin Margiela, Yohji Yamamoto and Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy (all of whom show their collections in Paris) previously have edited, but never made an effort to represent their respective countries on the pages.

"When we were asked to do this, it happened to be during the election, when America was having, for lack of a better word, a revolutionary moment," says Hernandez. "It was so cool to be American." And cool is exactly the word we'd use to describe the Old Glory-esque Chloe Sevigny cover, plus features ranging from Bruce Weber to Abraham Lincoln.

Last night was officially one of the biggest nights in the industry. Okay, so I know we said the same thing about last month's Met Ball but honestly, this was a big one too. Let's call it the Golden Globes of the fashion industry.

There were not many surprises with the winners. Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte went home with the big Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. According to Grazia, the duo 'spent all afternoon watching the movie Midnight Cowboy to calm themselves down' and celebrated by calling them mum straight after their win had been announced - she proudly told them that she knew they would win all along. Kanye's favourite, Scott Sternerg for Band of Outsiders, tied with Italo Zucchelli for Calvin Klein Collection for the Menswear Designer of the Year Award.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez from Proenza Schouler bagged the award for Accessory Designer of the Year. Our favourite golden boy, Alexander Wang, was smiling from ear to ear when he was announced as the winner for the Swarovski Award for Emerging Design Talent.

When Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez weren't dealing with the media blitz from Kiefer Sutherland's infamous headbutt, apparently they were lining up artsy ways to display their resort collection in Italy. The new Proenza Schouler collection will be exhibited at the Pitti W pre-collection event in Florence on June 18, but instead of a runway, the designers will have three performance artists "interpreting" the looks.

One of the trio, Kalip Linzy, slotted Chloe Sevigny and Liya Kebede to star in a gender-bending video. Hint: it involves mega wigs.
