Yesterday this image of the March cover of Harper's Bazaar UK surfaced featuring a Givenchy clad Georgia May Jagger, in what is definitely her strongest cover to date. The cover story was shot by Alexi Lubormirski in Miami and to add an intimate touch, the interview was conducted by the 20 year-old's mother, Jerry Hall.
What do you think of the cover?
UPDATE: The magazine have released the full editorial today
Despite being busy at work on promoting the Versace for H&M collection, it's still all systems go at H&M. Today the high street retailer released this first set of images from their new Christmas campaign starring Jerry Hall and daughter Georgia May Jagger along with H&M regular, Karen Elson. Both mother and daughter are successful models so it was only a matter of time before the pair joined forces in front of the lens and we have H&M to thank.
A boy gave me a quarter of a tab. I didn't know what it was! I actually had never taken drugs and was very nervous. And I never did take drugs [afterwards] ever, ever. But I locked myself in the bathroom and spent the whole night staring in the mirror, going, 'Oh, my God'. All of a sudden, I thought, 'Wow!'
When Mum was first modeling, it was all about that Thierry Mugler woman with the tiny waist and the giant ass. They used to pad their hips. I think it's much sexier. Lizzy [Jagger, her sister] and my dad are naturally skinny. I model jeans. You need a bum for those.
Last week we reported that the Versace brand was having a serious reshuffle in the workforce department. It seems from recent news as reported on Grazia.com that the reshuffle is to go beyond the regular in-house staff and will include the introduction of a new face to star in the ad campaigns.
Unexpectedly, this new face in question is that of 17 year old rising star and rock royalty, Georgia May Jagger , daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, who strangely enough, was also a Versace cover girl in her modelling hayday. The sultry looking golden haired model, who has already starred in campaigns for Hudson Jeans and Rimmel make-up, although not an obvious choice, is clearly what the brand needs to inject more youth and edge if it's to comfortably weather the current storm affecting the luxury goods market in the present economic climate. Ms Jagger's agent confirmed the signing, saying "We are delighted that Georgia is following the foot steps of her mother who did Versace with Avedon. She was thrilled to be working with Donatella and Mario and to be bringing it through to a new generation."
Being the first African-American fashion designer to reach international fame is a pretty big accomplishment, no? It's Stephen Burrows who holds that honour, and after he started designing in the '60s, he earned a commendable client list. Ever heard of Lauren Bacall, Jerry Hall, Cher or Diana Ross? Forty years later, with CFDA honours along the way, he's still in top form.
This week, Burrows chats with The Fash Pack about his real feelings on fashion week, his possible TV addiction and early-morning design inspiration.
Artist Tracey Emin - a favourite of Naomi Campbell, Jerry Hall and Elton John - sported a shirtdress and biker boots to a preview of her 'Those Who Suffer Love' exhibition at White Cube in London yesterday. Does she look like a work of art?
