Jennifer Lawrence Sports Dior Couture At The 2012 Toronto Film Festival

Raf Simons' debut couture collection has already had more than a handful of red carpet moments but the sheer importance of the debut makes me feel the need to continue to do a bit of Dior couture spotting and the latest star to be given the chance to sport a piece is Jennifer Lawrence.

Over the weekend the 22 year-old actress opted for this printed strapless number teamed with black Dior shoes and a Tiffany & Co, Rubedo rose gold cuff and ring. As a big Dior fan I really wanted to like this look but something doesn't quite work. Lawrence doesn't carry it off quite like Rachel Weisz and Jessica Biel did with their gowns and her new dark hair looks a bit too harsh.

Jessica Biel Will Get Married In Elie Saab And It Might Look Like This

Elie Saab plus Jessica Biel is a good combination. The 'Total Recall' actress has rarely been spotted not wearing the designers wares since promoting the movie and how could you forget how beautiful she looked wearing the brand's lace gown at the Golden Globes earlier on this year.

It should come as no surprise, then, that she's turned to the designer to create the dress for her big day. 'She's having Elie Saab make her wedding gown,' an insider confirmed to Life & Style. 'She's been a fan of his for many years.' What the dress will look like is still unclear but the Golden Globes outfit is a pretty good starting point.

Are you excited to see her dress?

Dior Show That Celebrities Wearing Couture Can Be A Good Thing

Jessica Biel at the L.A. premiere of 'Total Recall'

In a recent piece for the New York Times, Cathy Horyn spoke to Karl Lagerfeld about dressing celebrities in the couture collections. As you'll recall, he made the interesting point that couture 'is not a red-carpet opportunity' and in some cases results in 'clients cancel[ing] an order after seeing their dress on a celebrity.' So with that being said, it's interesting to watch which celebrities Dior have allowed to wear Raf Simons' couture debut on the red carpet.

The latest star to get the opportunity is Jessica Biel, who follows in the footsteps of Marion Cotillard and Rachel Weisz, and the choice is interesting. All three women are major A-listers, which was no doubt was a deliberate step by the brand to avoid the types of problem Lagerfeld noted in the article.

And it's exciting. After the whole John Galliano you were hard pressed to find an A-lister wearing the ready-to-wear collection let alone couture collection on the red carpet besides their spokeswomen like Charlize Theron and Mila Kunis, so it's good to see the brand dominate and absolutely nail it on the red carpet again. And something telling me that after seeing all three actresses wear pieces from the collection, those women with pockets deep enough to pay those heavy prices will be lining up to buy them.

Someone Actually Has One Of Those Expensive Backpacks From The Row

Image via Jessica Biel Twitter

Back in July Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched their new handbag line for the The Row at Barneys and while the collection was all really good, nobody could stop talking about their black crocodile skin backpack that retails for a whopping $39,000. 'I think if you were every going to spend $39,000 on a bag, that’s the bag you should buy because I think you’d wear it for a really long time,” Amanda Brooks, former fashion director at Barneys, said at the time. 'There’s enough design to make it interesting and beautiful but they truly are classic bags–and I think you also might be the only one who has it.'

While that might be true, we haven't seen anyone sport the bag or more importantly, actually purchase one, but it looks like Jessica Biel might be the first person to actually own it. This week she posted this image of her wearing the backpack on Twitter saying, 'In love with my #therow backpack. Thanks Ashley!' Biel's version isn't the crocodile skin style but still comes in at around $10,000. The tweet made it clear that she didn't actually buy it but she's definitely the first star to get their hands on one.

New In: See All Of The Red Carpet Looks From W Magazine's Pre-Golden Globes Party

Where the AFI Awards failed to excite in the red carpet outfit stakes, the W Magazine pre-Golden Globes party definitely made up for it. Emma Stone, Elizabeth Olsen and Ali Later stole the show but strong looks also came from Charlize Theron, Emmy Rossum and Rachel Zoe.

Rate or Slate: Jessica Biel Wears Valentino

Jessica Biel was out in New York yesterday to attend the premiere of her new film, 'New Year's Eve' at the Ziegfeld Theatre. While I love her hair and make-up, I haven't quite made up my mind about this Valentino dress.

Guess Who Revlon Have Signed As Their Latest Brand Ambassadors?

Emma Stone; Olivia Wilde

Guess who are the new faces of Revlon? Yes, Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde have officially signed with the brand as global brand ambassadors joining the likes of Halle Berry and Jessica Biel. It was only a matter time before the pair bagged a big deal because they've been everywhere this year as Stone promotes her new film, 'The Help' while Wilde is currently pushing both 'Cowboys and Aliens'.

According to WWD, both actresses are working on campaigns for the brand's new colour cosmetics and nail polish line set to launch in early 2011. But don't worry Gucci Westman, Revlon's global artistic director, confirmed that they will be releasing teaser images and videos of the campaign on Facebook and Twitter in the run up to the big reveal next year.

Watch: Jessica Biel And Pharrell Williams For Revlon

Last week Revlon debuted the commercial for their new Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara, featuring spokesperson Jessica Biel and musician Pharrell Williams. Dubbed 'Hypnoteyzed', the commerical sees Biel seduce Williams with her lashes while a song written and produced by the singer plays.

When asked about the effectiveness of the mascara, Biel revealed that she's been using it long before the launch. “I’ve been using it a lot longer than it’s been out so I’ve had a real-life experience with it,” she says. “I’m really picky about my mascara—I don’t want it to clump if I decide to do an extra coat for evening—and this product doesn’t do that. It’s also very nourishing.” And she couldn't be any more complimentary about her co-star too. “He’s such a great person and I’m a huge fan of his music, so I was excited when he was chosen to participate,” she told US ELLE. “I think having someone like him incorporated into the commercial really makes it stand out.”

Jenny Packham Returns To New York And We're Grateful

London Fashion Week transplant Jenny Packham had a clear story for her Spring '11 show this week. "I loved the idea of a girl getting dressed for her first ball, and the thought of debutantes in the 40s," she told the Telegraph. If that brings to mind vintage styles, chiffon and an ethereal ease, then Packham's show was right on point.

The designer, whose fans include Jessica Biel and Cameron Diaz, relied on a dusky palette of peach and blue to carry her collection. She explored cleavage and low-back styles (no one said a ball had to go without scandal), but the textiles stood out more than the silhouettes. A De Gournay hand-painted silk organza gown could take us - and any girl - anywhere.
