According to sources, Robbie Myers and Joe Zee could be rubbing shoulders with Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington. Why you ask? If recent reports are anything to go by, Conde Nast's cut backs are not just about cutting budgets due to the current economic climate. They are said to be trying to buy ELLE from Hachette Filipacchi.

On Monday, CEO Chuck Townsend said: "The [McKinsey] review has led us to a number of decisions designed to navigate the company through the economic downturn and to position us to take advantage of coming opportunities."

Fashion Week Daily claimed that "industry insiders are buzzing about Conde Nast possibly acquiring Elle in its quest to fill their lineup with broader offerings," but nothing has been confirmed.

Joe Zee is great at putting a fresh spin on the tips-and-tricks articles in magazines, to keep them, well, actually helpful and fun. Now, ELLE has introduced his Fall A to Zee online guide, which points out the creative director's favourite new styles, letter by letter. (You can view it online here, and we would like to point out that the graphic design = adorable.)

Naturally, we were curious to see what the ever-vocal Mr Zee would pick as his top trends in clothing, accessories, beauty products and more. So we'll give you a taste of our favourites. J, for Jill and Jennifer, stands for the Joan Jett rock look, and N, for Naomi and Nic, is for grunge detailing like "nuts and bolts". Keji gets kisses with K (lip details on shoes, tops, everything). Sophie finds surrealism with S, and H is for houndstooth - and our very own Holly.

We've had a sneak peek into the Elle offices before with hit reality show, 'Stylista', but could an Elle edition of 'The September Issue' be on the cards? Well if Twitter is anything to go by, American Elle's Creative Director, Joe Zee, and Jane Cha, executive director of 'Project Runway' had dinner with who else but renowned director of 'The September Issue', R.J.Cutler. 'Stylista' was a big hit, so we're keeping our fashion hopes high that they were discussing business that night.

Well, maybe. And we'll have to find out for ourselves since he told reporters last week: "I don't do interviews anymore. With anyone. For the rest of my life."

But this is what we know. Kanye West took back his vow of silence at the Casio G-Shock party he attended this week and gave some important info about Amber Rose. "She just did her first shoot for Ford," he said. Kanye didn't offer another other details about the shoot, but Joe Zee informed Fashion Week Daily that the rapper styled a spread for Elle's October personal-style issue. Then Zee clammed up and wouldn't reveal who Kanye styled.

So was it Amber Rose? This is all Joe Zee would add: "Kanye is very specific with what he likes and doesn't like." Hmm. Roll on October.

We can't help but spot the uncanny resemblance of Rihanna's new half shaved hair do to our favourite Elle girl, Kate Lanphear.

Is it possible that the singer took inspiration from American Elle's style editor? Joe Zee seems to think so. "Rihanna shaves part of her head but our own Kate Lanphear has been sporting that same cut for months now," he tweeted.

After Erin Wasson stopped styling for bestie Alexander Wang, the young designer got Alastair McKimm on board. However, Fashionologie report that Calvin Klein stylist Karl Templer is tipped to style Wang's spring/summer 2010 collection next season, replacing McKimm.

Wasson's keeping busy. Joe Zee tweeted that she is busy working on her second styling job at ELLE this week.
