While we've all probably long admired Julianne Hough for her dancing skills, it's only recently that the 'Dancing with the Stars' star has really made us take notice of her style too. It's been the promotional tour for her latest movie, 'Rock of Ages', and the events and appearances along the way, where we have seen her style really evolve.
First up was that Chinese red stretch-crepe Kaufmanfranco gown that she wore to the CFDA Awards last month and ever since, things have only got better. Interview magazine has been the first to take note of her transition and featured her in the latest issue of the magazine shot by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Karl Templer. Something tells me this is only the first of many big fashion spreads to come.
Last week Julianne Hough nailed it in that red Kaufmanfranco dress that she wore to attend the CFDA Awards and last night she was on top form again as she attended the world premiere of 'Rock of Ages' at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. For the occasion she chose a neon yellow dress from the designer and teamed it with a relaxed top-knot and drop earrings in what was definitely one the strongest looks of the night.
Julianne Hough was never someone whose style I followed but at this year's Met Gala, she had been convinced and last night she was on form again.
To attend the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards she chose this beautiful Kaufmanfranco Chinese red stretch-crepe gown, which was refreshingly classic and elegant despite the deep V-neck.
All eyes may have been on the red carpet at Cannes over the weekend but a big event took place in Las Vegas too last night, as it played host to the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
While the red carpet looks didn't quite match up to what we saw in Cannes, the looks were actually pretty good. Taylor Swift sported a red Elie Saab gown, Julianne Hough looked incredible in a silver Kaufman Franco creation and Miley Cyrus had everyone talking in this Jean Paul Gaultier double breasted mini dress.
I was first introduced to this little lady while in a post-knee surgery morphine haze in a Kansas City hospital. At the time, I was more concerned with whether Ritz crackers would be too wild and crazy for my stomach than watching her shake her sequins on the 2007 Dancing with the Stars finale. But two years later, here she is winning a Top New Artist statue at the Academy Of Country Music Awards. (Ballroom dancer to country singer?) Does her dress look red-carpet-ready, or does she look too much like an Oscar for her own good?
