When Elite New York announced that they had hired Louie Chaban to help turn their fate around, we knew that things would change quickly and that's exactly what he's done.
Aside from bringing Karen Elson, Agyness Deyn and Christina Kruse along with him when he started, a string of top models have joined the agency since he arrived six months ago. First up was Ali Michael and Alyssa Miller who joined shortly after Cheban arrived and last week the agency confirmed that Carolina Trentini, Hilary Rhoda, Veruschka, Dorothea Barth Jorensen and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have now followed suit.

It's been a busy social week so far. Monday night saw the CFDA host their annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards and last night everyone came out to tribute director Pedro Almodovar at the Museum of Modern Art's forth Annual Film Benefit. The best look on the night were definitely Miranda Kerr who looked stood out in her zip-up Peter Pilotto top and skirt combo teamed with Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Despite being busy at work on promoting the Versace for H&M collection, it's still all systems go at H&M. Today the high street retailer released this first set of images from their new Christmas campaign starring Jerry Hall and daughter Georgia May Jagger along with H&M regular, Karen Elson. Both mother and daughter are successful models so it was only a matter of time before the pair joined forces in front of the lens and we have H&M to thank.
What do you think of the campaign?

It's no secret that Elite New York didn't have the best fashion week last month. As is increasingly the case, the agents that left the agency over the summer took with the company's biggest models with them. Coco Rocha, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Kate King and Alessandra Ambrosio are all gone and the models remaining at the agency didn't do set the runways alight this season.
Now their hopes for a comeback all rest on the shoulders of Louie Chaban, the agent responsible for the international success of models like Christina Kruse, Karen Elson and Agyness Deyn. The appointment was announced the Elite blog this week, along with the news that all three models will follow him to the agency along with Cameron Russell and Jamie Bochert.
As agents go, Chaban is a heavyweight so if there's anyone that can turn Elite's fate around, it's him.

After Kate Moss' big appearance at the fall 2011 Louis Vuitton show back in March, we were all expecting that the star would appear in the brand's ad campaign. For the fall 2010 campaign Marc Jacobs chose supermodels like Christy Turlington, Natalia Vodianova and Karen Elson but this season he opted for fresh faces.
Of the six models chosen - including Daphne Groeneveld and Anais Pouliot - the eldest was Gertrud Hegelund aged 20. So does this suggest a movement away from the credit crunch? Over the last few years brands have taken a conscious step to cast the 'supers' and big money models like Gisele in order to appeal to 'mature' women who were amongst the few who still had a disposable income during the downturn. With that in mind, does the reversion back to fresh faces signal that all is well in the luxury world?

If you're a fan of Karen Elson and high street retailer Nine West, we come baring good news. This week WWD revealed that the model has signed a deal with the store to launch a limited edition collection of accessories to run in their 'Vintage America' line.
The collection will be extensive, featuring shoes, bags and jewellery that reflect her signature style. "My dream of designing a collection that's a true reflection of me has now come to life through this collaboration," she explained.
"An otherworldly beauty and modern muse like Karen Elson truly embodies the inextricable connection between fashion and music," the retailer's creative director Fred Allard said. "I was not only inspired by her music, but also by her powerful personality, attitude, allure and undeniable talent."

New York Fashion Week is already coming to a close so fashion week tiredness is begining to kick in but you can always count on Laura and Kate Mulleavy to have us transfixed and taken to a distant world at Rodarte.
The designers put aside the controversy and showed yet another strong collection yesterday to the likes of Karen Elson and Kanye West. Inspired by the Great American Plains, the duo sent models down the runway in beautifully draped silk maxi dresses in a variety of shades all boasting a windswept wheat print along the hemline. The collection played with texture too with lace dresses appearing with chiffon and sheer tulle skirts were teamed with thick nude jumpers. Taking inspiration from 'Wizard of Oz', the collection also featured some striking red numbers covered in sequins.

It's been almost a decade since Karen Elson first spoke of her struggles with eating disorders (she wrote a first-person essay about the topic for British Vogue in 2002), but the Telegraph brought the issue up again this weekend. Elson wrote that she read: "Kate Moss' statistics in a magazine and how much she weighed. They said she was seven stone, so I thought, 'That's it, that's how much I want to weigh'...I'd be not eating or bulimic or taking laxatives."
However, Elson's first encounter with the illness occurred when she was 7, after her parents divorced. Then, at 19, she became ill again. According to the paper: "The skinny freak was no longer chic — the tanned, healthy beauty of Gisele Bündchen was having its moment — and the rejection was difficult to handle. Not only that, but Elson was filling out. In 1998 Dolce & Gabbana rejected her for their Milan catwalk show, deeming her too big. At the time Elson laughed it off (while cancelling all of her Milan and most of her Paris runway appearances)."
Following that, Elson got "back in business" (according to her agent) by starring in the Pirelli calendar. Going through fashion-industry ups and downs about which body shapes are in fashion? We're not so sure we could handle that.
