Kate Upton's Latest Cover Actually Makes Sense

There's a lot going on at Cosmopolitan at the moment. As you know, Joanna Coles recently moved from her post at Marie Claire to head up the team and let's face it, the magazine needed all of the help it could get. But, credit where credit's due, they've got it pretty spot on with their November issue starring Kate Upton.

The cover, which was most certainly shot long before Coles started, works for many reasons. Upton is having quite the fashion moment right now, which complimets the greater focus on fashion that Joanna has planned. And besides, Upton's sexed up look and propensity to strip down to her undies makes her the perfect match for Cosmo, no? It's definitely makes a lot more sense than her most recent ones.

Kate Upton Bags Another Big Fashion Magazine Cover

Kate Upton is having quite the fashion moment right now. Despite the queue of critics, with 10 magazine's Sophia Neophitou right at the front, she's not doing too badly. Carine Roitfeld gave her new found success the seal of approval by booking her to cover the debut issue of CR Fashion Book and now she's bagged another big cover but this time for the October issue of Jalouse.

In the magazine, where she was shot by Alexi Hay, the model touched on her experience of the fashion world describing it as 'clique,' and there's some truth to that. To me Upton has that Kim Kardashian factor. While I'm totally for seeing more diversity in magazines, the purist in me doesn't like her new found presence in fashion magazines. And besides, the fact she counteracts every positive step by appearing in a video on Terry Richardson's blog  appearing scantily clad doesn't help either. That aside, she does look pretty beautiful in the cover shoot.

What do you think of the cover?

Carine Roitfeld Celebrated The Launch Of CR Fashion Book With A Huge Black Tie Event

The launch of Carine Roitfeld's new magazine, CR Fashion Book, hasn't been without its controversies. As you will know, Condé Nast reportedly banned several photographers, models and stylists from collaborating with the former Vogue Paris editor but despite all of that, Roitfeld is flying high. The preview of the issue has gone down well and this weekend, just about everyone turned up to congratulate her at the party she hosted to celebrate the debut issue.

'It's very different from my last party,' she told The Cut, having a look at the guests in the marble-floored atrium of the Frick Museum. Around the same time last year Roitfeld through a karaoke party to celebrate her Barneys campaign at a strip club on the West Side Highway so basically the polar opposite of this year's swanky 'do. 'I want to do something different, more classic,' she said about the formal Mercedez Benz-sponsored black tie event. 'After all, I am a grandma now.'

Kate Upton Covers Carine Roitfeld's CR Fashion Book Issue 1

To say that the launch of Carine Roitfeld's new magazine CR Fashion Book has been highly anticipated would be a serious understatement. The last few months have been full of speculation about what we can expect along with controversy surrounding those reports about Condé Nast banning their stylists and photographers from contributing to the publication. Now the wait is over because the cover has been revealed and the issue is set to drop on September 13.

Kate Upton was shot by Bruce Weber for the cover carrying five chicks, in line with the issue's rebirth theme, and her appearance doesn't come as a surprise. Back in June reports began to emerge that Roitfeld had snapped her up particularly after she booked the Sports Illustrated model to walk in that amfAR fashion show in Cannes. And besides, we know that Carine likes models a good curvy blonde (hello Lara Stone) and Upton is just that.

'Maybe people will be surprised that she was my first cover, but you know, I always like to surprise people,' she told The Daily Beast. 'I wanted someone with a sensual body, someone who could be a mother of all these babies. Honestly, from the first time I worked with her - I saw in Sports Illustrated some pictures she did with Terry Richards. I would not say she's a controversial model, but she's not a classic model, and I like that.'

The big questions is: do you like it?

Kate Upton To Cover The Debut Issue Of Carine Roitfeld's New Magazine?

Like her or not, Kate Upton isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The model, who is rarely out of a bikini and off of Terry Richardson's blog, recently bagged that feature in US Vogue and of course, that editorial in Harper's Bazaar too and her mission to crack the fashion scene is on getting better.

Yesterday rumours began to circulate that Carine Roitfeld has shot her for the cover of the debut issue of her new magazine, CR Fashion Book. According to sources, Roitfeld sees Upton as the new Lara Stone in the sense that they both look different from all of the other girls and have curvier bodies.

Vogue Seem To Think Kate Upton Might Get A Big Runway Moment After All

Last week Kate Upton's GQ cover dropped but it was actually her profile in US Vogue's July issue that has everyone talking. The model, most known for that infamous 'Cat Daddy' video, has desperately been trying to crack the fashion industry so the feature was undoubtedly a step in the right direction for her. Whether that's a good thing or not, I'm not sure.

Rather than going down the obvious route and styling her in swimwear, Upton looks transformed and completely covered up sporting an Altuzarra coat, knee high boots and a dress that reveled just a flash of her knees.

It is in fact those two deeply abbreviated swaths of fabric on which Upton's not inconsiderable fame rests, which might make you think that this Sports Illustrated cover girl, almost always photographed nearly naked, is not exactly the ideal customer for Altuzarra's cuddly coat.

Carine Roitfeld Helped amfAR Bring In A Record-Breaking Sum At This Year's Gala

Last week's amfAR Cinema Against Aids gala was a huge success raking in a record-breaking £7 million on the night and Carine Roitfeld definitely lent a helping hand in bringing the money in.

This year the former Vogue editor and long-time contributor to the event held a special fashion show at the gala where everyone from Cara Delevigne to Kate Upton walked the runway. The theme was 'the perfect black wardrobe' and everyone from Tom Ford to Christopher Kane donated their designs, which were all auctioned off as a single lot for £240,500.

Roitfeld wasn't the only industry figure lending a hand. Karl Lagerfeld put his services forward along with Harvey Weinsten to offer the opportunity for someone to star in a short film directed by the designer and produced by the Hollywood giant. Even Peter Lindbergh offered a private shoot up for auction, which raised £71,000.

Kate Upton Dropped Major Dollars To Attend The Met Ball

Kate Upton has really tried to push forward into the fashion world of late. That 'Cat Daddy' bikini video definitely didn't help but nonetheless, she hasn't been doing too badly. Over the past few months she's bagged a Muse magazine cover and has also appeared in an editorial shot by Terry Richardson in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar. Despite her efforts, nobody expected the model to get an invite to the Met Ball on Monday and neither did she. If reports are anything to go by, she's taken matters into her own hands.

Today Page Six reports that the Sports Illustrated cover girl has paid $25,000 of her own money to make sure she could attend this year's Costume Institute Gala. According to sources, Upton will wear Michael Kors to the event and will sit at his table for the event. The move seems like quite a drastic one but one thing it does prove is that like her or not, she isn't going away any time soon.

Kate Upton Did The 'Cat Daddy' For Terry Richardson

When Kate Upton's Harper's Bazaar editorial shot by Terry Richardson dropped recently, I was genuinely really happy for her. The shoot was a departure from her usual modeling gigs and went a long way in showing that she can diversify. More than anything else, it was actually really good. It's no secret that she has been at the end of a lot of negative attention recently. Many continue to say that there's not much to her beyond the boobs and body so the shoot, in which she was mainly covered up, definitely went a way in proving her critics wrong.

Sadly, though, she is back to square one again after this video went viral. Just like the YouTube clip that caught everyone's attention in the beginning, the video sees her doing the 'Cat Daddy' dance but this time she ditched the clothes and sported a skimpy bikini instead and strangely managed to do so without showing off more than she'd bargained for. For someone trying to show that there's more than a pretty face, this wasn't the best move.

What do you think?

President Barack Obama knows how to throw a good party and deliver a good red carpet and the White House Correspondents' Dinner, which took place over the weekend was no different.
