While celebrities continue to be the go-to people for brand partnerships, what with the rise of street style blogs, editors are getting in on the action too. Dazed Group founder Jefferson Hack designed a collection for Tod's, Anna Dello Russo is about to launch her accessories line for H&M and now Katie Grand has followed suit.
The LOVE editor has created, Gang, a collection of sunglasses, trainers, bags and purses for Hogan, most of which come with a heart motif, which I'm sure is a link to the magazine. '[The purses] might be brightly coloured and decorated with hearts but they're extremely practical,' Grand said. 'I always carry a BlackBerry and an iPhone wherever I go, so designed them o be just big enough to carry both, along with a key and credit card.'
Alongside the collection, the stylist has also created a one-off publication featuring a shoot with models raging from Alessandra Ambrosio and Jessica Stam to Cara Delevigne and Linda Evangelista with commentary from Derek Blasberg.
This week a rumour started to circulate on the Fashion Spot that LOVE magazine is folding. Without any elaboration someone named Pedro posted saying that he's 'been told by a reliable source that LOVE magazine is ceasing and the last issue No. 8 will be the last one published.'
The magazine is without doubt one of the strongest quarterlies out there at the moment so naturally, the post was met with several devastated commenters but don't worry, Katie Grand has confirmed that the reports are wrong. 'LOVE is not folding, we just published our most successful issue to date with 457 pages, 194 number of advertising pages, and up 10% from this time last year.'
For the last few months there's been talk about the Spice Girls performing at the Olympics closing ceremony and the speculation was pretty much confirmed last week when Victoria Beckham tweeted a picture of a diamanté-encrusted microphone. Now, with the closing ceremony less than a week away, the big question has now switched to what the brand will wear.
Victoria recently tweeted a photo of Katie Grand's pet rabbit along with the caption: 'Morning fitting with @gilesgilesgiles, cuddle with @kegrand bunny!! X vb.' As yet no confirmations have been made and even if he is dressing Victoria, that doesn't necessarily mean that he's dressing the whole band. If he did, it would make sense. Victoria is hardly ever spotted wearing anything other than her own designs so it's hard to think what else Deacon would be fitting her for and besides, Giles is one of Britain's biggest designers right now so who better to dress the country's biggest girl group on what will undoubtedly be an event to remember?
Karl Lagerfeld hasn't been allowed to live down those comments he said about Adele's weight. After the interview went out, the comments were constantly the subject of conversation and now they are back in the spotlight as Beth Ditto weighed in on the issue in a recent interview with the Evening Standard:
I don’t think Adele would deny that she was fat. And I bet she doesn’t. Karl Lagerfeld used to be fat himself, so you gotta think about that. He’s obviously not proud of that fact. I also think that people give him way too much power! He’s just an eccentric designer who makes amazing art but doesn’t always say the coolest shit.
And…the way I feel about Adele is, I doubt, and I hope, and I’m pretty confident, that she does not think about Karl Lagerfeld, ever. I bet that is the last thing on her mind at night. She’s falling asleep on her 85 Grammys and however many millions of albums she’s sold and however many millions of pounds that she has, and is just probably thinking, like, “You know what – all right!
In her recent editorials Crystal Renn has demonstrated the art of a good ol' fashion transformation and it looks like she has been transforming in her personal time too. Yesterday Ford Models released this image of the model relaxing on holiday in the Caribbean sporting a new hair 'do.
Gone are the long dark locks that she's so well known for and in comes a short blonde look. So far agency haven't confirmed what the change is for but something tells me that it's linked to a big job. Last week Jessica Stam was spotted with dark hair and confirmed that it was for a shoot with Katie Grand so maybe they have both worked on the same project.
Much has been made of models use of drugs - hello, 'Cocaine Kate' headlines - but as The Cut point out, not much has been made of the well known drug abuse experienced by designers. In an interview with The Telegraph this week Katie Grand discussed the pressures on designers today since the introduction of two additional seasons citing such pressures as an inevitable - although unexcusable - contribution to John Galliano's downfall at Dior.
Over the weekend Alber Elbaz held a talk at London's Royal Opera House and weighed in on the issue:
"I don't understand this marathon of fashion," he said. "Today, designers are expected to produce work that is bigger, better, faster and — these days — cheaper. A singer can quit once he or she has made ten great songs, a director can finish once he or she has made five amazing films, a writer just needs to write three great books. Now let's look at designers — they produce six to eight shows a year, most designers have a 20-year-long career, so I need to create about 250 collections in that time. Not even Danielle Steel could write 250 books.
When it comes to cover images, nobody does it quite like LOVE. Yesterday the magazine released this image of their Autumn/Winter 2011 cover via Twitter.
The sixth issue sees Zimbabwean-born model Nyasha Matonhodze appear styled with a black crow headwear and black tears for their 'Strangely Romantic Super Natural' theme. The cover is the second big gig for the 16 year old model after securing a spot in the fall 2011 Louis Vuitton campaign.

Love is doing another multi-cover for their fifth issue. You'll be able to choose from Kate Moss, Justin Bieber or Lea T. to cover your copy of the 'androgyny issue', the Telegraph confirms.
As Fashionologie points out, Iris Stubegger and Freja Beha Erichsen would have been better choices than Moss and Beiber considering the androgynous theme but nonetheless, we're sure Katie Grand won't fail to impress come February 7. when the issue hits newsstands.
