Models making the transition from fashion into the world of film isn't anything new. Cameron Diaz has done it and more recently so has Lily Cole, Agyness Deyn and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Now it sounds like Cara Delevigne might be following suit.
Not much has been said about it but this week at the premiere of Keria Knightley's new 'Anna Karenina' film it was revealed that the British model does have a small appearance in the film. Delevigne plays the marriage interest of Aaron Johnson's Count Vronsky and while she barely says a word, talking to Harper's Bazaar the 20 year-old explained that the role is only the start of things to come.
The last time we saw Keria Knightley she was everywhere and her celebrity had reached a saturation point. Over the last few years, though, she's laid low so when it was confirmed that she would make her big return last night at the premiere of her new movie, 'Anna Karenina', I was really excited and she didn't disappoint.
The actress arrived at the London premiere wearing a stunning pink gown from Chanel's Fall 2012 couture collection, marking the first time that the piece has been seen on the red carpet. While I'm a big fan of Chanel couture, the dresses don't always translate well onto the red carpet but here it definitely did. The delicate sheer sleeves perfectly break up the floral appliqués, which creates enough drama to get us all excited about what else she has in store for the rest of the promotional tour.
British Harper's Bazaar always nail their covers and their September issue is a case in point. Keira Knightley looks beautiful sporting a piece from the Chanel A/W12 collection.
The cover comes in the wake of the promotional tour for Knightley's new movie, Anna Karenina, in which she stars alongside Jude Law so I'm sure this is only the start of a long line of covers that we'll see soon. In the accompanying editorial, the actress spoke to Harper's editor Jennifer Dickinson about everything from what it's like to be a Chanel spokesperson to finding love as she approaches her thirties.
The September issue of Harper's Bazaar hits newsstands on Thursday August 2.
Fellow young actress Carey Mulligan just tied the knot and now Keira Knightley is following suit. Over the weekend her rep confirmed that she is engaged to her boyfriend of 15 months, James Righton of the Klaxons, who she was introduced to by Alexa Chung.
The big question now is who will be the designer of choice to design her wedding dress? Since she's the current face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance and has always had a good relationship with the brand, Karl Lagerfeld is currently the front runner. So far, though, her rep is keeping quiet about the details.
Which designer would you like to see design her big dress?
As we count down to tonight's Oscars, we have compiled some images of some of the best red carpet moments we've had over the last few years.
Naturally Hilary Swank's Guy Laroche dress that she wore to accept the Best Female gong for 'Million Dollar Baby' is in the list, alongside Nicole Kidman in that red Balenciaga halter neck dress that she wore in 2007 and that breathtaking Atelier Versace gown that Penelope Cruz wore back in 2007.
Keira Knightley knows how to pick a good red carpet outfit. After wowing us with that Mary Katrantzou dress earlier on in the day, Knightley stepped out in this beautiful gold Valentino couture dress to attend the 'A Dangerous Method' premiere during the Venice Film Festival.
Keria Knightley and Kirsten Dunst look a picture in this Miu Miu printed skirt. Knightley took her look a little bit further by adding this matching Miu Miu blouse while Kisten adding a Chanel bag to hers whilst in Cannes.
