While I hate to quote Scott Disick, it's true; the Jenner sisters are the ones with the big long-term earning potential as far as the Kardashian-Jenner brood is concerned. Kendall and Kylie have already bagged contributing positions for Seventeen and now have a Teen Vogue cover under their belts and thing's aren't slowing down.
Today this images was revealed showing Kendall wrapped up in a giant shoebox for the Beverly Center's Fashion's Night Out campaign. The ad was shot by Moshe and Eddie Brakha and, according to WWD, sees the Wilhemina model wear a Georges Chakra couture gown. Naturally, then, it's safe to say that we can expect the whole clan to be at the Beverly Center mall come September 6.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner brood, are going from strength to strength and are slowly building their own brand independent from older sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe. While we've always seen them on the family's reality show, it's only relatively recently that they've caught everyone's attention. In the last year the pair have appeared in a string of magazines and are quickly gaining a strong teenage following and now Seventeen magazine have decided to tap into that.
Today the magazine confirmed that the pair have signed on as their new 'West Coat fashion contributors'. According to the press release that went out this morning, the pair will appear in web videos and a monthly feature called, 'Kendall & Kylie's Fashion Journal. The decision makes sense. Seventeen did really well when they teamed up with America's Next Top Model a few years ago so with circulation numbers dwindling and ad pages decreasing, it was only a matter of time before they tapped into the reality TV world in some way again. The Jenner's seem the perfect fit.
Their elder sister may be feeling a mighty backlash at the moment but things are going from strength to strength for Kendall and Kylie Jenner. They have reportedly signed a deal with E! on their own reality show and have a jewelry line in the works and now, the Jenner sisters have bagged a big cover.
Over the weekend KrazyFor Kourtney (@PureKourtney) tweeted this image of what appears to be the sisters on the cover of Teen Vogue's March issue. While the pair have appeared in the magazine before, this will be their first cover for the magazine.
What do you think of the cover?
Update: Teen Vogue have just released the official cover and full editorial.
Controversy about the use of underage models in the industry is an issue that is never too far from the headlines so with Fashion Week beginning today, the issue has reared up again. Last week WWD reported that Diane Von Furstenberg and CFDA CEO Steven Kolb had sent letters out to designers urging them to check the ages of models on the day of the show to ensure they are over 16 but it looks like these initatives aren't aggressive enough as Avril Lavigne confirmed that Kylie Jenner will walk in her Abbey Dawn collection this week.
While her older sister Kendall isn't interested in walking the runway, Kylie wants to jump right in by walking in brother Brody Jenner's girlfriend's show. Although that's all well and good Kylie, the youngest in the Kardashian-Jenner brood, has only just turned 14 so is well below the standard imposed by the CFDA. Despite the clear guidelines, the CFDA don't appear to have any enforcement mechanism in place to deal with such instances. 'The CFDA Health Initiative guidelines are suggested recommendations put forth for the industry. The latest version has been distributed widely,' Kolb told Fashionista. 'We are not in a position to police or enforce these recommendations. We can only hope that they are followed and taken seriously and are happy that so many in our industry are acting responsible.'
So what should be done? Understandably these guidelines are needed but on the other hand, Lavigne's line is targeted to the tween market and that's exactly what Kylie is.
They've dressed you in their various clothing lines, created somewhere for yout to shop and tried to help you get in shape with their Shape Up and Quick Trim deals and now they want to make sure that you're nail perfect. Just when you thought that there was nothing left for the Kardashians to attach their name to, they go and find something.
Yesterday the sisters (minus Kim) held an event to introduce beauty editors to their new line of nail varnishes with OPI's sister brand, Nicole by OPI. Named Kardashian Kolors - natually - the line features 14 different shapes inspired by Kim, Kourtney and Khloe as well as younger sisters Kylie and Kendal and mom Kris.
Last night the Nokia Theatre in L.A. played host to the 2011 People's Choice. Jennifer Aniston presented Adam Sandler with the award for favourite comedy actor and Jackie Chan was awarded the title as favourite action star, which went to Johnny Depp last year. As expected, 'Twilight' was the big winner of the night receiving three awards and Kristen Stewart walked away with the big favourite actress gong.
