The Truth Behind The Cost Of A Celebrity Filled Front Row

When it comes to a celebrity packed front row, Burberry's attendance for their SS10 show last September blew everyone away. Collectively, Freida Pinto, Alexa Chung, Mary Kate Olsen, Daisy Lowe, Liv Tyler, Emma Watson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mario Testino and Victoria Beckham watched Christopher Bailey's newest collection eagerly from the best seats in town. Whilst for Burberry it might be a doddle to have the most relevant celebrities dying to be seated front of house, it has been revealed that labels such as Miss Sixty and Rock & Republic have to try - or should we say pay - a little more.

It seems that the more A, B and even C list celebrities they have sat on the front row, the better, however these fashionistas don't come cheap. To have Rihanna, our favourite Gossip Girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester come in at an also hefty $40-50,000, and expect each Olsen twin to set you back an astonishing $80,000. Now it makes perfect sense as to why both Carolina Herrera and Marc Jacobs have both virtually banned celebrities from their front rows - and we applaud you! One should never have to be bribed to attend a fashion show... attend your show, you'll need to hand over a whopping $100,000 or more.

Readers Will Crown Vogue's "Best Dressed Woman Of The Decade 2000 - 2009"

We could barely believe the decade was almost over until we heard about Vogue's "Best Dressed Women Of The Decade 2000-2009" list. Scanning the red carpets, runways and general moments from the past 10 years, Vogue has managed to compile a list of celebrities in the running for the title. Readers have been given the power to decide who will win and will choose from 10 looks from each year since 2000. On the 25th January, the final results will be revealed.

We were not at all surprised to see the likes of Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Chloe Sevigny, Jennifer AnistonKate Bosworth, Emma Watson, Gwyneth Paltrow or even Michelle Obama on the list. We were however a little taken aback to learn that Jennifer Lopez (in that 'tropical-inspired' diaphanous Versace dress), Madonna and Tilda Swinton had also made it onto the list, whilst the likes of Rachel Bilson, Emma Roberts, Leighton Meester and Kate Hudson were missing, but c'est la vie. The fact that we, the readers, will still be able to decide who we think should top the list, is a (large) step in the right direction. Of course we'll be voting for Kate Moss (naturally), but you can check out Vogue.com to decide for yourself.

In The Studio With: Christian Cota

At times, it's easy to see the direction Christian Cota's life took him before he launched his own fashion line in February 2007. The Mexican-born designer graduated from the Parsons School of Design with a fine-arts degree in 2005, and in carefully placed pops of colour on day dresses or relaxed jackets with every hue from a painter's palette, Cota's other interests show through.

Cota met quick recognition after breaking into the design business, with accolades from Style.com and recognition at Fashion Group International's Women's Ready-to-Wear Rising Star. After gaining a following with celebrities including Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Rose Byrne, Cota expanded into resort wear with a collection called Agua Cota.

This week, the designer takes a break from his schedule to show The Fash Pack what it's like inside his workspace.

Blake Lively: The New Face Of Victoria Beckham's Line?

Victoria Beckham has been one busy lady in recent months. Following the success of her clothing line and rumours of her turning her hand to model scouting (with Simon Fuller), we now hear that the designer is set to star Gossip Girl's Blake Lively as the face of her new Spring 2010 collection. We were surprised at this choice, given that it's the show's Leighton Meester who has been donning Beckham's designs in this season of Gossip Girl, in her role as Queen B, Blair Waldorf.

It seems however, that when Beckham and Lively crossed paths during New York Fashion Week in September, they are reported by the Daily Mail to have "got along famously", which explains the choice. That being said, the pint-sized mum of three has shared with UK Harper's Bazaar her desire to dress the actress-come-(Burberry) model, Emma Watson, describing her as "so sweet, so true to herself". Only time will tell which of the blonde starlets will be chosen as the Spring face, but if rumours of Beckham's upcoming guest appearance on Gossip Girl are to believed, looks like Lively's got this in the bag - well, that is, unless Harry Potter doesn't offer her a role, too?

Who Wore It Best: Leighton Meester Vs. Victoria Beckham

Leighton Meester; Victoria Beckham

If Victoria Beckham's line of dresses couldn't get any bigger, Leighton Meester was recently spotted on the set of 'Gossip Girl' wearing the same red dress from the collection that Victoria wore herself when filming the latest season of 'American Idol'.

Phillip Lim Grows Up, But Keeps The Sequins

The 3.1 Phillip Lim customer will always be youthful, probably, which makes flirty, abstract dresses like the above style, worn by Karlie Kloss, ideal. But there's something to be said for maturing, which Lim definitely did this season. Sure, maybe his woman wears her power suit with shorts, or trousers rolled to the ankle, but she has places to go either way.

And so it was grown-up clothing on the Lim runway, but not without the designer's signature whimsical touches. A floaty blouse was drenched with polka dots. A tuxedo jacket worn as a dress glittered with silver sequins. And as for this season's increasingly popular crocodile print, Lim chose to splash that with sequins, too.

With a selection of it girls (Leighton Meester, Alexa Chung, Olivia Thirlby) sitting front-row, Lim seems to have popularity under control. And we don't think a standout collection for spring can hurt, either.
