Karl Lagerfeld's collaboration with Carine Roitfeld on 'The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisted' is the partnership that we've all been excited for. So far the brand have teased us by taking us behind-the-scenes of the shoot for the book, as well as making us a fly on the wall at the recent exhibition for the book in Tokyo in that video that they released earlier this week.
Yesterday they launched thelittleblackjacket.chanel.com, an 'e-exhibition', which showcases everyone from Georgia May Jagger to Olivier Theyskens wearing the iconic black Chanel tweed jacket styled by Roitfeld. The concept really works. The diverse cast for the book is illustrative of the timeless quality of the piece and its ability to transcend generations and styles. The book is available online on Amazon for only $39 but in the meantime, have a glimpse at some of my favourite images from the book.
Lily Allen isn't happy with the tabloids after several of them published articles over the weekend alleging that her brand, Lucy in Disguise, is in trouble after having to close their Covent Garden store. In an interview with Vogue.com, Allen made it clear that the company is far from struggling and anyone that reports misleading allegations can look forward to legal action.
"I'm really excited that Lucy in Disguise continues to expand with the planned opening of a brand new shop and the expansion of our online business," she explained. "If any other publication wants to write deliberately misleading articles about Lucy in Disguise, feel free, I WILL sue you," she wrote on Twitter. Titled 'Rags to hitches', The Daily Mail reported that a source informed them that ‘Everything is chaotic with Lucy In Disguise. Having a pop-up shop is a last-ditch attempt to save things.’
Lily Allen is the perfect ELLE cover star. After all, her August 2010 cover for the magazine saw her become amongst the first stars to front 'that' Miu Miu dress on a cover and her October 2009 'London Issue' cover helped ELLE beat 27 contenders to win their first D&D Award in 2010.
Her latest cover for the magazine sees the newlywed designer appear in a Dolce & Gabbana outfit on the newsstand cover and Gucci in the subscribers edition. In the magazine she speaks candidly about her first hand experience with unhealthy dietary lifestyles in the fashion and entertainment industry. ‘I hang out with models, the biggest pop stars and, you know, really and honestly, I hate saying this, but none of them are achieving those body shapes by being healthy,’ she said. ‘They’re not just going to the gym two hours a day. They’re not eating or they’re taking speed not to eat. In America everyone abuses that Adderall stuff and people aren’t normal.’
Read the cover story in the latest issue of ELLE on newsstands on tomorrow.

Lily Allenarrived in Paris this morning and sat front row at the Chanel show but that wasn't the only reason why the singer was in the French capital. Before the show she popped into Karl Lagerfeld's studio and confirmed to paps 'I’m here to see Karl for my wedding dress.' The star is getting married to taxt driver Sam Cooper who she starting dating back in 2009.
2011 is looking like a big year in the wedding dress stakes. We're all still speculating which designer Kate Middleton has chosen to design the dress for her big day and we also have Kate Moss' dress by John Galiano to look forward to.
Now in its closing stages, it feels like a long time since ELLE announced the launch of its competition, Shopgirl to Stylist - the magazine's search for the next international styling talent from London's shop floors. Since we last spoke to the team, the hopefuls have been taking part in numerous tasks set out by the ELLE team and have now been whittled down to 10 finalists.
This week, the magazine announced that Lily Allenand her sister Sarah Owen - who have just launched vintage clothes boutique, Lindsay in Disguise - will joinLorraine Candy on the judging panel on November 2nd in an X-Factor style final.
