Maria Francesca Pepe never fails to impress. In her presentation yesterday, as per usual, she managed to incorporate her jewellery into her women's wear line with ease. Silver chains hung along the shoulders and down the back of a boxy structured black double blazer and gold chains hung from leather waist belts connected around to the models' ankles on black leather cuffs. A teeth motif appeared throughout the collection on belts and necklaces.
If there's any trend from S/S10 that isn't going away anytime soon, it's sheer detailing. Pepe introduced sheer elements, most notably on a long cream blouse styled with a black high-waisted leather skirt, underneath a black asymmetric draped dress, and on nude dresses and leggings with a gold detail.
Like many other designers this season, she really played with textures, like on a purple heavy wool check dress with leather sleeves as well as on coats with fur and leather accents.

The British Fashion Council has announced the names of 19 fashion businesses to receive BFC NEWGEN sponsorship, supported by Topshop. The sponsporship to most if not all the designers acts as somewhat of a launchpad, as it enables them to show their designs at the forthcoming London Fashion Week in February 2010. Caroline Rush, joint CEO of the BFC explains: "NEWGEN is an essential element of the BFC's designer development and showcasing programme. This season we have an incredible wave of original, innovative and talented emerging designers who will, without a doubt, support London's reputation as a creative capital."

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2007, the fashion world has been putty in designer, Maria Francesca Pepe's hands. If recieving critical acclaim for her first collection was not good enough, her jewellery was quickly snapped up by the likes of Dover Street Market. The last few seasons has seen her grow her brand from just jewellery to clothing, bags and now shoes too.
In this latest installment of 'In The Studio With', The Fash Pack caught up with the designer to talk about what inspires her to work and her love of listening to dubstep in the studio.

Stylist Sara Darling has been in the industry for several years and is a firm favourite at the London Fashion Week shows. Is styling really all about the glitz and glamour? What does it actually involve? In this candid diary, Darling gives the FASH PACK exclusive access to her life shooting fashion icon Roisin Murphy and top models.
