
In an economy that's more lucite than diamond, it's comforting to look back at the lavish lifestyles that once were (and will be again). Enter "Cartier...100 Years of Passion and Free Spirit in America", the new installation that opens at the brand's New York flagship on May 1.
A collection of baubles from the company, which actually was founded 163 years ago in France, is designed to relive the memories from the iconic brand. A ruby and diamond suite from Elizabeth Taylor, the redesigned pear-shaped pearl piece that Mary Tudor owned and Richard Burton bought, and Grace Kelly's poodle pin are just a few of the pieces on display.
