Pringle of Scotland, the brand of luxuriously understated knitwear and 'twinsets', last season made a much welcomed returned to the British runway during the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week, having previously opted to show in Milan. That trip was accompanied by a Ryan McGinley film starring the queen of quirky, Tilda Swinton.
This season, Pringle plans once again to shake up fashion week in honour of the brand's 195th anniversary. To do so, the company plans to collaborate with the Serpentine Gallery. Mary Adair-Macaire, the label's CEO, alongside the gallery's director Julia Peyton-Jones and co-director Hans Ulrich, will be selecting a group of artists to design a small collection of work, drawing inspiration from Pringle's argyle pattern and it's twinsets, amongst other things.
The list of artists will be drawn up and revealed by the 14th January. The project, which will be unveiled in February, will include the launch of retail pop-up store and other events, to coincide with the arrival of London Fashion Week.
