Chanel is famed for a number of things including the iconic 2.55 quilted bag, the Oscar-worthy perfume adverts and the recent biopic, 'Coco before Chanel'.
That aside, Karl Lagerfeld continues to broaden the brand's horizons. Yesterday he announced that he has accepted an offer to lend his time to design costumes for Penelope Cruz who is set to star in another Pedro Almodovar epic, 'Broken Embraces'.
The movie, which is due to hit cinemas on the 28th August will see Cruz don a number of eye-watering outfits straight off the Chanel catwalk including the usual and ubiquitous lady-like silhouettes in timeless textures and shades.
This latest addition to Lagerfeld's portfolio of work simply begs the question of what life was like before Chanel. I for one hope we never have to find out.
