Back in March Chanel unveiled the images from their latest book, 'The Little Black Jacket', in Tokyo and last night they brought the travelling exhibition to New York with everyone from Pharrell Williams and Zoe Kravitz to regulars like Dree Hemingway and Poppy Delevigne in attendance.
Just as a refresher, the exhibition includes a selection of over 100 black and white photographs of models and celebrities shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Each star sports the brand's classic black tweed jacket styled in different ways by Carine Roitfeld.
The exhibition opens tomorrow until June 15 over at 18 Wooster Street.
Anyone that follows Derek Blasberg on Twitter will know that the New York based writer was in town yesterday to celebrate the launch of his new book 'Very Classy'. Yesterday was a busy night in New York. As well as the Time 100 party, the city also played host to the Chanel Artist Dinner during the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival at the Odeon. All of the names you would expect were there like Camilla Belle, Leigh Lezark and models Arizona Muse and Karlie Kloss. Even Julia Restoin-Roitfeld made an appearance showing her ever growing baby bump
Yesterday was the day of Louis Vuitton. In the morning Marc Jacobs failed to disappoint with his fall 2012 collection at the brand but last night was all about their much anticipated exhibition, which helped close Paris Fashion Week.
Two floors of the Louvre were taken over as guests including Sarah Jessica Parker (who flew in especially for both events) and fashion folk like Miuccia Prada and Anna Dello Russo explored the event dedicated both to the history of Vuitton and Jacobs' work at the house. While the first floor was dedicated to the classic trunks and heritage, the second floor featured Jacobs' partnerships with artists like Takashi Murakami alongside several of his big campaigns and memorable collections.
Eddie Redmayne, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Mario Testino
As always today's Burberry Prorsum show was a star studded affair. The usuals like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Bosworth sat alongside new additions to the front row gang like Wil.i.am and model Jessica Michibata.
Last year Harrods was given a Chanel make-over as the brand created an exclusive exhibtion showcasing their key pieces and last week they went even further by playing host to an eight-day excursion to Las Vegas where they held an invite-only installation.
In true Chanel form, the event was a big one. According to WWD the brand chartered private planes coming from across America to transport editors, celebrities and socialities to the weekend's festivities and secured Alexa Chung and Nick Cohen to DJ at the party. Guests on the night include Jessica Alba, Rachel Zoe, China Chow and brand favourites like Poppy Delevigne, Jen Brill and Diane Kruger.
The shows in Paris have generally been quite celebrity free but last night was different, as Karl Lagerfeld hosted a show and coctail party to celebrate the launch of his latest collection for Hogan. The usuals like Leigh Lezark and Poppy Delevigne were joined by Rachel Zoe, Ciara and Lea Michelle.
Gucci always know how to throw a good party and yesterday, it was all about celebrating the opening of the Gucci Museo in Florence. The opening comes as the brand celebrates it's 90th anniversary this year and the venue will play host to pieces from the Gucci archive along with contemporary art installations and an icon store. Everyone from Poppy Delevigne to Charlotte Casiraghi attended, all wearing Gucci, but stragely Florence Welch wasn't there.
Yesterday, ahead of today's New York Fashion Week festivities, Missoni held a private launch party and they pop up store on Sixth Avenue to celebrate the unveiling of their collection for Target.
