KCD Partner With Pierre Balmain For Their Digital Fashion Shows Project

KCD's Rachna Shah and Renee Barletta

KCD were one of the first big PR companies to embrace all things digital so when the company announced last season that they were launching Digital Fashion Shows, a platform to provide online-only shows to press and buyers, nobody was surprised. To kick start the project they worked with See by Chloé and Prabal Gurung on his inaugural ICB collection and with fashion week just around the corner, they've just confirmed that the line-up is expanding.

In addition to working with those brands, they will also showcase the S/S13 collection from Pierre Balmain, the French fashion houses' sister line, and it's not hard to understand why the line-up is growing. The initiative offers a lot more than a simple livestream. The videos can be viewed on just about every mobile device and each look comes with a front, back and detail view along with show information and the ability to make notes on each look.

Did you watch any of their shows last season?

ICB's Relaunch Under Prabal Gurung's Direction Is Coming Soon

Prabal Gurung's eponymous label is doing well, okay, so maybe that's a understatement but nonetheless, that's not the only thing the designer's working on. As you'll know, ICB recently tapped the designer to serve as their creative director and thankfully, we don't have too long to wait to see the new look.

If the name doesn't ring a bell straight off, don't worry, you're not the only one. The brand hasn't been sold in America for more than a decade but in the past, has had everyone from Michael Kors to Viktor & Rolf duo Viktor Hosting and Rolf Snoeren at the helm. To support the launch, the brand have created a new campaign lensed by Sebastian Kim starring Laura Kampman and Katryn Kruger, which will appear in US Vogue's September issue.

Rate or Slate: Anne Hathaway In Prabal Gurung At 'The Dark Knight Rises' Premiere

As far as red carpet looks are concerned, I'm always excited to see what Anne Hathaway is going to wear. More often than not, she never puts a foot wrong but things have changed recently.

Last week she sported that black peplum Givenchy dress that did little to hide her smaller frame, as she prepares for her role in Les Miserables, and sadly this outfit that she wore last night to attend the premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' hit a similar note. Her hair and make-up looked flawless but I'm not convinced that this plunge-neck Prabal Gurung Resort 2013 works on her.

What do you think?

Prabal Gurung Confirms He's Alive And Well After Death Hoax

We've all got used to celebrities falling victim to death rumours but sadly even designers aren't immune to them now. The latest victim this week was Prabal Gurung who, according to the rumour which popped up on Google Alerts, had died in a fatal car accident.

The Google Alert was triggered after Global Associated News claimed that the designer had 'died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Rosewell.' As you would expect, after the alert the designer received a barrage of calls from family and friends trying to make sure that he was actually okay and well.

Rate or Slate: Hailee Steinfeld In Prabal Gurung

Hailee Steinfeld is amongst a handful of young actresses in Hollywood that manage to tread the delicate line of embracing key pieces from the big brands whilst also looking age appropriate and this look is a case in point.

To attend the 2012 Young Hollywood Awards the 14 year-old chose this white and gold look from Prabal Gurung's Fall 2012 collection. The gold floral detailing of the top perfectly counteracts the more mature look of the trousers.

Quote Me: Prabal Gurung On Jennifer Lawrence Wearing 'That' Gold Dress

She’s kind of the girl who I design for. She’s young, beautiful, and she makes smart choices about films ...The only hard part was me wondering ‘Is she really going to wear it?'" When she did, it made me look like a really, really cool uncle to my 5-year-old niece!

2012 Met Gala: Round-Up Of The Best Dressed

Anticipation for this year's Met Gala was high and the event definitely didn't disappoint. While it's true, there were several disappointing looks from people like Coco Rocha and Jessica Chastain, the majority of the looks were really strong and it was really good to see people research and commit to this year's Schiaparelli theme.

The above is a round-up of my favourite looks. Regular readers will know that I was on the dubious side about Joseph Altuzarra teaming up with Lana Del Rey but I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Her dress, along with her new dark hair, looked beautiful and so did Carey Mulligan in her golden Prada creation. As an Olsen fan, I'm generally impressed by anything either twin turns up in and last night was no different. The black dress from The Row that Mary-Kate Olsen was classically simple but still powerful.

Which outfit is your favourite?

See Images Of Prabal Gurung's Nail Collection For Sally Hansen

Prabal Gurung's S/S12 collection was full of colour. Citing Nobuyashi Araki's photographic series 'Sensual Flower' as the starting point for the collection, Gurung played with interesting greens and of course, purple. These colours also inspired his latest collaboration with Sally Hansen. Yesterday this image emerged revealing the shades that are included in the name polish line. The colours, called Loves-Me-Not, Purple Posy and Barely Bluebell, are a steal at $7.99 each and are now available in CVS stores.

Get Excited: Altuzarra For J.Crew Capsule Collection Confirmed

Last month rumours started circulating that CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Jospeph Altuzarra is working on a capsule collection with J. Crew along with runners up Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind. The news didn't come as surprise. Back in 2010, the high street retailer announced that they would work with the award recipients of that that year - who were Prabal Gurung, Eddie Borgo and Billy Reid - on capsule collections and today Altuzarra confirmed that the reports are true.

'So we worked on a collaboration which I think will be out in a few weeks,' he told Fashionista. 'It was a really interesting project because it was like a conflation of their language — or of their world — [and] of our world and putting it together.” As designer-high-street partnerships go, this is one I'm definitely looking forward to get my hands on.
