As far as fashion and politics go, Sarah Brown is one of the only ladies to grace this planet and manage to single-handedly balance both worlds, as opposing as they are. Her role as both Prime Minister's wife and her recent involvement with the British Fashion Council have earned her mounds of respect, so we did find it rather confusing to see her seated - or rather, squeezed - into a tiny gap on a front-row bench seat at the AW10 Mark Fast show.
Even despite the best attempts of many PR reps to create some room for Brown, surrounding on-lookers barely moved, which leads us to wonder - what ever happened to the meaning of the front row? Long gone, it seems, are the days when the front row would be filled with the most influential people in fashion - and ever increasing are the runway shows where a mix of industry favourites, press, buyers, celebs, family...you name it, are packed tightly into a show with barely any room to move, let alone write.
