Things are pretty good for Georgia May Jagger right now. Recently the British model was confirmed as the new face of Madonna's Material Girl world and of course, she was amongst the line-up of models that appeared in the Olympics closing ceremony, and it doesn't end there. This week she was confirmed as the face of the new Just Cavalli fragrance.
'Roberto Cavalli is a great designer. The Just Cavalli brand is very sexy, young and cool,' she said in a statement. 'Each collection is very contemporary and colourful; it is clearly for the younger girl who wants to have a trendy look. It is the first fragrance that I have ever done so it is a huge honour.' While it may be her first fragrance campaign, Jagger isn't new to beauty campaigns after serving as the face of Rimmel London for the past few years after replacing Kate Moss.
Despite hiring Kelly Osborne to front her Material Girl line only a year ago, Madonna and daughter Lourdes have decided to opt for a new face to front the brand's latest collection and Georgia May Jagger is the model of choice.
'To be handpciked by Madonna and Lola as the new face of Material Girl is truly amazing,' she told WWD, and the decision seems to make sense. Jagger is only 20 years-old and the following that she's gained after fronting big campaigns for Rimmel London and Hudson Jeans, fits perfectly with the teenagers that the line appeals to.
So far the line has only been available in Canada and the US at Macy's but as of next month, you'll also be able to buy it in the UK.
It's all systems go at Rimmel London at the moment. Last month saw the cosmetics giant host a big party at London's Battersea Powerstation to celebrate the 10 year partnership between Kate Moss and the brand and to mark the occasion, earlier this month they announced that they would be partnering up with the model again but this time on her own collection.
Named The Lipstick Collection, the line features a selection of seven new shades all designed by Moss and unlike many of the other celebrity and cometics partnerships that we've seen recently, this one really works. Aside from Moss working with the brand for years, the decision to work on a selection of lip colours makes sense as she's well known for her penchant for a coloured lip. Along with that launch, Rimmel have also just dropped their new Glam'Eyes HD Union Jack Eyeshadow collection - the brand's first range of creamy textured eyeshadows.
But don't worry. It's not all about the 'new' as they have focused a lot this season on reworking signature products. This season is all about their I Love Lasting Finish Collection, as they've reworked the signature styles to introduce four new shades- Hot and Spicy, Misty Jade, Disco Ball and Purple Pulse - and in true Rimmel style, each bottle comes with a Union Jack design.
The lipsticks are £5.49, Eyeshadows, £6.99 and nail polices, £2.99 and all are in stores nationwide now.
Rimmel announced today that it's bringing on a few new faces. Solange Knowles and Zooey Deschanel are both spokeswomen for the bargain makeup range now, along with Puerto Rican model Alejandra Ramos Munoz. The trio will join the likes of Kate Moss, Coco Rocha and Georgia May Jagger for representing Rimmel London, as reported by StyleList. The news comes as the Coty brand announces it's trying to expand its current scope in the UK and US to markets in Latin America, China, Japan and India.
Meanwhile at the YSL camp, insiders have revealed that French actress Melanie Thierry will star in the print campaign for the brand's new fragrance, scheduled to launch later this year. Thierry has just won a Cesar, the French version of an Oscar, and she hit the Hollywood market with a role as Aurora in the 2008 film 'Babylon A.D.'
Move over, Kate Moss and Lily Cole. Georgia May Jagger and Coco Rocha are the newest brand ambassadors for Rimmel London. The models will debut the make up line's 2010 ad campaign, and we can't wait to see what their style and flair can add to RL.
"I am thrilled to be the new face of Rimmel and to be representing such a fantastic brand," said Jagger, the 17-year-old daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall. Check back in a few months for the latest from the gorgeous duo.
