Picture Anna Wintour calmly saying, "Yes, we can - yes, I can" every morning as she looks at herself in the mirror. We like to think of her using Barack Obama's campaign catchphrase on a daily basis, now that she's nabbed a spot on a presidential committee.
Wintour and 26 other private citizens were instaled Monday on the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities, which focuses on "arts and humanities education, cultural diplomacy, economic revitalization through the arts and humanities and special events dedicated to recognizing excellence in these areas." Michelle Obama is honourary committee chair, and others including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington, Forest Whitaker and Teresa Heinz Kerry also took committee spots.
And before you get your magazine-reading panties in a bunch, we'd like to point out that Wintour isn't leaving Vogue or moving to Washington. Although if she did, we can bet she'd have something to say about the "fashion" on Capitol Hill.

The 'Sex and the City' franchise is extending yet again - sort of. Coty Prestige plans to launch a new Sarah Jessica Parker fragrance called SJP NYC, which will be influenced by the young, sexy and stylish Carrie Bradshaw.
In an interview with WWD (another acronym!), Parker described the fruity, floral scent as a "party in a bottle". She said: "A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them — a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion."
SJP NYC will feature top notes of Italian mandarin, white osmanthus and strawberries and will be sold exclusively in Macy's, starting this February. (That gives Bradshaw fans three months to smell like their icon before the second SATC film premieres in May.) The eau de toilette will sell for $25 to $49, but those who prefer solid perfume will have to wait for a cuff bracelet with the scent in May.
Will SJP NYC be as successful as Parker's other perfumes, Covet and Lovely? You tell us.

When I was young, I got creative by crocheting. My neighbour taught me how to make teddy bears and afghan squares, things like that. When Limor Senker was young, she made customised jewellery for herself. But that's what happens when your father is a diamond dealer.
Senker jumped into the jewellery business in depth in 2005, after her son was born. Today, she crafts a line of fine jewellery called Love Rocks NY, which names the likes of Leighton Meester, Hayden Panettiere and Sarah Jessica Parker as fans. Senker's specialty is embedding ethically sourced micro-pave diamonds into 14-karat gold and platinum - which, we think, makes for pretty great accessories. Many of her pieces include peace symbols, like doves, hearts and actual peace signs.
This week, the ever-so-cool jewellery designer talks Middle Eastern tunes and night-owl tendencies with The Fash Pack.

Her glamorous statement jewellery adorns the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Isla Fisher and Cheryl Cole, and now the accessories designer of the moment, Lara Bohinc will be introducing shoes into her collection.
'The main challenge is to design shoes that are extraordinary and comfortable at the same time,' Lara told Grazia. 'That is why all our shoes have a heel of 11cm, which looks very high but is still reasonably wearable. Also, the positioning of straps is very important: they need to hold your foot in the right places.' Her shoes that are comfortable and no doubt as fabulous as her jewellery, are sure to be an investment buy, especially as three styles are taken from her Eclipse range. 'The other two are from a totally new collection so you will just have to wait and see....', Lara explained. With an already stunning collection of bags, we simply cannot wait to have the shoes to match.

After news that Patricia Field is experiencing cut backs in the wardrobe department of 'Ugly Betty', all we can do is hope that the economy will not reach the new 'Sex and The City' movie.
However, I can't help but feel anxious after seeing the outfits Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon wore during filming this week.
What do you think?

Sarah Jessica Parker clearly needed some shades for this scene in 'Sex And The City 2'.
How do you like Carrie Bradshaw's style?

Patricia Field, the iconic stylist responsible for the trademark fashions on 'Sex and the City', has two things she would like you to know: She doesn't give a freak about the economy, and she kinda wants to give SuBo a makeover.
First, the news has broken that Field might quit the SATC franchise (and, therefore, not style the second film due out next year) after having a row with Sarah Jessica Parker. SJP saw the new Carrie Bradshaw as a recessionista. Field thinks: not a great idea. "I don't use the recession as a reference for my creativity," she tells Grazia.
So what would be her next project? Maybe Susan Boyle. "I would probably make her a glamorous opera diva," Field says. "Roll on the make up. Put her in a corset, put her in a diva gown - give her a hot wig and let her go and sing."
We say: As long as Boyle doesn't end up looking like first-season Miranda, we're good.

Sarah Jessica Parker channeled Carrie Bradshaw at the Broadway premiere of The Philanthropist last night, although we're not sure Carrie would've dated someone with muttonchops. Matthew Broderick, get thee to a barber.
