It seems like it was only a few months ago that Nina Garcia left the pastures of Elle magazine for those of Marie Claire. In fact, more than 18 months have since passed and it seems it was well worth the wait, as Alexis Bryan Morgan has now accepted Elle's offer to take up the role and commence in the new year. The newcomer to be is no stranger to life working at a high-profile magazine, given that in her current role she sits as the executive fashion editor at Vanity Fair and also has her very own seven-page photo gallery on Style.com.

Aside from being a fixed figure on the fashion circuit, the mother of one and wife of Spencer Morgan, who writes for the Observer, is also the step-daughter(-ish) of Anna Wintour - her father Shelby Bryan, a telecommunication exec, has been with Wintour since the late 1990s. Having risen through the ranks at Vanity Fair (from intern to executive fashion editor) in a short period of time, much to some other longstanding staffers' chagrin, it seems that Alexis is ready to crack a new magazine and we look forward to seeing what she brings to Elle.
