Armani Prive Haute Couture: By The Light Of The Moon

Giorgio Armani rolled out a haute couture collection in Paris today that makes us feel like falling in love - and specifically, we'd like to fall in love under the night sky while wearing shimmering micro-organza in the type of cuts that make the futuristic trend seem sweet. The Armani Prive Spring/Summer '10 show, which drew front-row guests including Anne Hathaway and Tina Turner, referenced the moon in everything from crescent brooches to carefully sculpted jackets to sweeping peplum waists. And the most memorable piece of the collection? A hint of an evening dress, worn by Vlada Roslyakova, with a hazy organza "globe" as a cover.

A midnight-blue lame gown was one of the only hints of bold colour in Armani's collection, mostly based in cloudy white, pale pink, silver and black. Pantsuits clung to the body, some with minimal-Balmain-style shoulderpads, and others with orbs of fabric for sleeves. Detailing came in the form of sweeps and swirls of brocade, pearl-finish sequins and crystal embellishment. All of this, sent down a moon-river runway where liquid-effect textiles reflected just as many lunar beams as the reflective catwalk floor. So was it theme overkill? A man like Armani could never do such a thing.

Victoria Beckham's Dresses Stolen

Bad news for Victoria Beckham: Her Spring/Summer '10 dress collection was stolen while being transported to Neiman Marcus in London. The pop singer turned designer is said to be devastated, especially since the shipment of 50 to 75 dresses was valued at £350,000.

A van carrying the dress collection left 19 Entertainment's offices in the capital and was broken into as the delivery driver made a drop off, according to the Daily Mail. When the driver returned to the truck, robbers reportedly knocked him over and fled with the clothes. This operation was meticulously planned. The thieves must feel they can make a fortune selling the collection on the black market.

Eva Mendes And Jamie Dornan Starring For Calvin Klein Again

Eva Mendes and Jamie Dornan have been invited once again to be the faces of Calvin Klein, with jobs set up for the Spring 2010 Denim Campaign. As the stars of the label's current campaign, the duo are photographed drenched in water, with their limbs entangled together in a racy pose. However, it would seem that not everyone is a fan of the billboards, and some New York residents have gone as far as to call for their removal.

At present, there is no confirmation of what we can expect for the upcoming campaign, which is to be shot by Steven Klein, but we can be sure that it will most likely involve a scantily clad Eva, draped in some way or another all over Mr Dornan. And as for whether the new campaign will face similar criticism, only time will tell, but if one thing is clear, then it's that Ms Mendes will surely deal with any negative reactions in the same way she has done in the past - ignoring them. Having had her advert for the Calvin Klein Secret Obsession perfume banned by US TV network bosses - the one in which Mendes seductively writhed around on a bed in the nude - she replied by saying she was "thrilled" that the advert was considered too saucy. Naughty girl!

Spikes And Studs In Louise Goldin’s Topshop Line

Images via The Lipstick Diaries

We’ve had Jimmy Choo for H&M, and now we have Louise Goldin for Topshop. Victoria Beckham trailblazed the look with her spiked, gold Christian Louboutin for Rodarte shoes back in 2008. The good news is, now you don’t have to splash out to get the look.

Early pictures from Goldin’s new footwear line for our favourite highstreet retailer show black and silver stiletto pumps, covered in studs and spikes. These seriously fierce shoes are a toned-down version of what Goldin’s models wore on her spring 2010 catwalk, and we think they’ll gain the same repute Jimmy has.

Daphne Guinness wore the much talked-about Spring '10 Alexander McQueen shoes to last night's NARS 15X15 launch, which she co-hosted with Marc Jacobs. We're impressed to say Ms Guinness didn't topple over once, even in the fairy tale-tall heels.

Riccardo Tisci Talks Capsule Collections, Castings And Campaigns

Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, who has just returned from the Oi Fashion Rocks festivities in Rio de Janeiro earlier this week, popped in to Barneys in New York to oversee the heavily anticipated launch of the brand's capsule collection. The 20-odd piece collection, which is to become a twice-yearly collection, and which now see pieces being sold 40 percent cheaper than previously, will predominantly focus on two main themes: the Givenchy "Romantic White Blouse" and "Studs". Shoppers even will have the opportunity to purchase a revamped version of the Bettina blouse, first created in 1952 and complete with ruffles and ribbing, as well as a series of studded, pieces ranging from leather jackets and structured dresses to trousers and accessories.

Despite having only arrived back in the states a few days earlier and only having 24 hours notice of the appearance at Barneys, the Central St Martins graduate still managed to fit in a quick interview with Fashionologie, and we just couldn't resist sharing it with you.

Should We Expect “Conservative” Ad Campaigns Next Season?

Apparently so, according to experimental British photographer Nick Knight and Wayne Sterling of Models.com and The Imagist. This autumn 2009, fashion houses have predominantly cast celebrities or well established models for their campaigns, a theme which looks set to remain next season despite numerous new faces appearing on the spring 2010 catwalks as the established models sat it out.

This Tuesday, Knight told the Independent: “My aim has always been to push at the boundaries of what is and isn't beautiful. Instead of our perception of beauty opening up, it's becoming more narrow all the time. To make money, the industry is increasingly catering to the lowest common denominator and, as far as the people who run the big companies are concerned, anything even slightly out of the ordinary frightens people. But anyone with a brain knows that it is the quirkiness and imperfection in a person that attracts other people. That is completely obvious to human beings; it's just when it gets to a corporate level that it all falls apart.”
