Prada's Video Game Inspired Fall 2012 Campaign Is Here

Yesterday LOVE magazine revealed a sneak peak of the Prada Fall 2012 campaign and now it's finally here. According to the press release, the Steven Meisel-lensed campaign used 'shifting camera angles and endless depth of field [to] create a playful illusion of perspective and proportion, recalling the setting for a videogame.'

Models Elza Luijendijk, Magdalena Frackowiak, Vanessa Azente, Anne V and Iselin Steiro appear sporting those statement geometric shape printed suits that we all fell in love with back in February.

Louis Vuitton's Steam Train Is Going To Shanghai

As far as set designs go, it doesn't get much better than Louis Vuitton. As you'll remember, the brand's Fall show featured a steam train that reportedly cost a whopping $8 million. Rather than using it in their Steven Meisel-lensed fall campaign they decided to reconstruct the interior in a studio to replicate the inside of the train but don't worry, the set hasn't gone to waste.

According to WWD, the train is set to go to Shanghai on July 5 to appear in a huge show on July 19. Following in the footsteps of Chanel, the show marks 'the first time the brand has sought to evoke the exact ambiance of its Paris show' and aside from that, it also marks the opening of Vuitton's first maison in China.

Crystal Renn And Karolina Kurkova Got Institutionalised For Interview

Interview magazine's latest editorial has got everyone talking. Crystal Renn appears alongside Karolina Kurkova in 'Strict Institution' lensed by Steven Klein. The story shows Renn as a mentally distrurbed patient and Kukova as sadistic character who ties her Renn up and abuses her and stragely, the pair are really convincing. Steven Meisel's Rehab shoot starring models like Agyness Deyn and Sasha Pivovarova in Vogue Italia back in 2007 sprung to mind.

New In: Joan Smalls Covers Vogue Italia's March Issue

This morning Joan Smalls was unveiled as the cover star of Vogue Italia's March issue. In the Steven Meisel-shot cover she appears wearing one of the statement tops from the Dolce & Gabbana S/S12 collection with bold eye-shadow, big earrings and nails that a dance hall queen would be proud off, tying in with the magazine's 'over the top' theme.

The cover is significant for several reasons. The cover signifies that Smalls has 'arrived'. A few years ago the Puerto Rican-born model was virtually unknown in fashion circles as her modelling was limited to commercial work. Today she is sits as one of the biggest faces on the scene and is currently the face of Chanel and has appeared in just about every show or magazine that matters.

More importantly, the cover marks the first time since that 'All Black Issue' that a black model has covered the magazine. Over the years Franca Sozzani has continued with her commitment to support a diverse representation of beauty in the magazine and this cover signals a movement away from the use of black models in a token way. Hopefully this isn't the end...

If there's one brand whose campaigns we all look forward to see, it's Prada. Aside from the clothes, all eyes are on the models because as you know, landing a Prada campaign is the making of a new models career.

This season the line-up was a lot greater than we saw last year with Steven Meisel shooting casting six models - Megan Collison, Elise Crombez, Kati Nescher, Katryn Kruger, Natasha Poly and Ymre Stiekema - to appear in an American gas station set-up. “[T]he gas station is cast as a central symbol in this post-modern crossroads of new horizons and economic fulfillment, a stage set where fashion, fantasy and the promise of new discoveries collide,” the press release explains.

Last season he had us wanting to buy a puppy and now Marc Jacobs' latest campaign for Louis Vuitton has us desperately wanting to wear pastels and embrace all things S/S12 despite the horrible weather outside. “It is all very soft and very sweet, yet at the same time very bold and very graphic,” Jacobs told WWD of the campaign starring Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher and shot by Steven Meisel.

It's officially that time of year where all of our attention turns to which model will appear in each brand's S/S12 campaign. We already know that Freja Beha Erichsen has been replaced at Chanel by Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw; Arizona Muse will front the Fendi campaign and will also front Chloé ad along with Freja and this week more confirmations have been released.

This week Bryan Boy released the first image of Prada's S/S12 campaign starring Belgian model Elise Crombez shot by Steven Meisel and Balenciaga confirmined that unknown Dutch model Laura Kampmanwill join their current face, Juliane Gruner, this season.

There's a reason why just about every designer puts Karlie Kloss in a thigh high dress on the runway. Besides her killer stare, it's not secret that the Arizona native has a killer body. Earlier this month she made her Victoria's Secret runway debut so this cover was only a natural progression, no?

To finish off what has again been a strong year, Kloss has bagged another Vogue cover this time for Vogue Italia shot by Steven Meisel. Teamed with her signature stare, it's all about the legs in this high slit cut out Valentino gown. If this doesn't make you rethink over eating over Christmas, I don't know what will.

The Fall 2011 Prada campaign is out and it's already making people talk. Rather than opting for big well known girls, Miuccia Prada chose two new faces to front the campaign alongside Frida Gustavsson.

Kelly Mittendorf and Ondria Harin appear in the campaign shot by Steven Meisel. Considering the fact that neither model has ever stepped foot on the runway, bagging a Prada campaign isn't too bad, eh?
