Giambattista Valli may not have designed Margherita Missoni's wedding dress as was reported at the time, but he definitely designed Elettra Wiedemann's. Over the weekend the model tied the knot with British business consultant boyfriend James Marshall and wore a silk cocktail dress with a short Swarovski-encrusted skirt, according to Vogue.
Valli, what with his love of drama and romance, would definitely be up there on any woman's list of dream designers to design the dress for their big day but for the couple, having the designer involved was more sentimental. According to the title, it was actually Valli who introduced the couple five years ago before a London benefit. The rest is history...

Regular readers will know that I've always been a great fan of the SWAROVSKI CRYSTALLIZED™ store on London's Great Marlborough Street. Anyone who has visited the store will know just how good their designer collections are (think Kenneth Jay Lane and Bibi Bijoux) and now, The Fash Pack are joining forces with the store to host a special event on Thursday May 31 ahead of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Come and join us between 6:30pm and 8:30pm to enjoy the canapes and sparkling wine on offer whilst benefiting from the 15% discount that will be available on the night. I'll be on hand in store all evening and will talk about the major jewelry trends for S/S12 and anyone spending over £40 will be able to walk away with a special goody bag.
Over the past few weeks my inbox has been inundated with various products designed by brands to cash in on the interest in the Queen's Jubilee. Rather than creating something special and one-off, the majority of the pieces have simply been updated by sticking a Union Jack on it somewhere but this special Nicholas Kirkwood shoe is different.
The style is still typically Kirkwood rather than being gimmicky and marks the occasion by the inclusion of red and white Swarovski Elements. They work so well because they are desirable even without the symbolic value.
Holly Fulton is a designer that we all look forward to see. Her collaboration with Swarovski always feels organic and natural and works perfectly when combined with her signature prints. Fulton's collections always feel special. There's no gimmicks, no jumping on trend bandwagons. Her shows are always true to the brand and this season the intricate embellishments, bold colours and reworked prints proved exactly why her pieces are worth the investment.
The coloured fringed hemlines on dresses that have appeared over the last few seasons popped up again and like for A/W12, yellow featured heavily throughout. But don't get me wrong, the collection was far from being samey. For spring, Fulton introduced a new zebra print on bags, oversized cardigans, super luxe pantsuits and on a cropped bomber jacket. The collection also had subtle 60's undertone but done in a modern way. Typically sixties mini dresses came in monochromatic printed styles heavily embellished with Swarovski crystals, adding a tough edge to the reocurring style.
Kirsten Dunst has been relatively quiet but with the launch of her new movie, 'Melancholia', which premiered yesterday at the 64th Annual Cannes FilmFestival, it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of her. As you would expect, Dunst stepped out in Rodarte wearing this halterneck style dress teamed with Swarovski jewelry. Unfortunately this look didn't wow us but you might disagree.
After having a stint of designing with her small jewellery line for Swarovski, it looks like Daisy Lowe has caught the designing bug. Today Vogue.com announced that the model has signed on to design for Morgan. It's fair to say that Morgan doesn't always spring to mind when you think of top high street retailers but by bringing Lowe on board that could all change.
The store is keeping tight lipped about the details but have revealed that the one-off range will include dresses, jewellery and bags but will consist of only 15 pieces, all available at accessible price points. The range, which is set to launch in November, will unfortunately only be available in stores in France but will be accessible to some countries online.
After reporting last week that the new Tim Burton film, Alice in Wonderland, was taking the fashion world by storm, the new jewellery range from Stella McCartney for Disney and O.P.I's Alice-inspired nail varnishes have been revealed.
We love the contrast of big, chunky gold blinging bracelets with delicate, muted charms featuring Swarovski crystal details from Stella's jewellery offering, but we can't pick between the four O.P.I. colours - 'Off With Her Red', the striking orange/red, 'Thanks So Muchness!', a beautiful shimmering berry colour, 'Absolutely Alice', the signature Alice-blue packed with micro-glitter, and 'Mad as a Hatter', a colourful mishmash of glitter in a clear base. So now we have the nail varnish and jewellery to get into the Alice spirit, we just need the film to come out. Bring on March!
