Have you noticed that there have been a few absences on the runway this season like Tanya Dziahileva, Raquel Zimmermann, Sigrid Agren and Catherine McNeil?
According to sources, Tanya D will be back in good form on the runway for the Paris shows this week but there's been no word about the others. Jessica Stam on the other hand, has been confirmed to be back in New York and will not be walking in any of the Paris shows due to sickness.

The New York Times' T Magazine, known for its street cred and inexplicably good Katie Holmes shoots, now has competition in France. Le Monde launched the lifestyle mag M this month (clever!), and the launch issue features Audrey Marnay shot by Matthias Vriens. Fashionologie points out that T will still have something on M: It comes out 15 times a year instead of 12.

File this one under 'Big Freaking Surprise'. Japanese researchers have discovered that a robotic model (with the world's oddest torso) would not, in fact, be suited for the catwalk. Tanya D, Magdalena: Relax, ladies, you still have jobs.
Besides the fact that HRP-4C is ridiculous, there are four main reasons this £140,000 stunner will never see a couture dress.

Betty Jackson feels optimistic - about her whimsical mish-mash of prints, the economy, that sort of thing - but she made sure to insert a bit of darkness into her show this morning. She said in our backstage chat that she wanted to bring out Tim Burton's 'darker surrealism', and with looks like this one on Tanya D, it seems she accomplished the goal.
Betty Jackson has plenty of adoring fans, judging by the presence of Jefferson Hack, Erin O'Connor, Leah Wood and Lorraine Kelly in her front row and the hefty pack of well-wishers who mobbed her backstage after her show. Colin McDowell suggested singing a song, and Hilary Alexander couldn't gush enough.
"The whole show - fabulous," she told me. "It redefines feminism. It's what women want to wear right now."
Well said, Hil. Full review of the print- and floral-heavy show (with more pictures and inside details from Betty herself) to come later. We need time to pick the best shots of Jourdan Dunn, Liu Wen and Tanya D.
