After a promising start to the awards season with the Golden Globes, the SAG awards were disappointing in the wardrobe department. The majority of the looks failed to excite at all and January Jones, Lea Michele, Tina Fey and Winona Ryder were the best of a bad bunch.
The Awards season has officially begun. Last night the Beverly Hills Hilton played host to the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. 'The Social Network' was a bigger winner on the night receiving the award for Best Motion Picture Drama, Best Director for David Fincher, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score. Colin Firth and Natalie Portman won the big awards of the night for best actress and actor respectively in a motion picture drama.
Tina Fey might have lost out to Toni Collette at the Golden Globes earlier this month, but she can take consolation in the fact that she's going to be Vogue's March-issue covergirl. The magazine, who featured Michelle Obama on last year's March cover, has made an unexpected move in choosing Ms Fey. As noted by WWD, Vogue tends not to "rock the boat with its cover choices," but with other magazines featuring a mixture of actresses and popstars - such as Megan Fox for W, and Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel for Marie Claire - Vogue has certainly found a worthy competitor in Fey.
Glamour however, might just end up with the winning cover, shot by Ellen von Unwerth and featuring Victoria Beckham. Unwerth is known for her alternative and thought-provoking images. Hers was the lense behind the photographs accompanying The Times' 'Getting dressed with Lindsay Lohan' pieve and she also shot Lady Gaga for Out magazine's September issue. We simply can't wait to see ow Unwerth raw yet refined style will sit with Glamour's saccharine spreads and Beckham. As Unwerth has never worked with Glamour before, we wonder if this could be the first of many shoot to come.
Tina Fey of '30 Rock' chose a '50s-silhouette strapless Zac Posen dress, in a non-traditional black-and-white print, for the 2010 Golden Globes. To accessorise her look, she picked out Fred Leighton jewels.
