Last Saturday, The Fash Pack was lucky enough to be amongst a select group - including Jefferson Hack, Derek Blasberg and Catherine Ostler, editor of Tatler - to be invited to the first-ever screening of the innovative Tim Burton's Disney film, 'Alice in Wonderland'. After having a preview of the designer collaborations involved in the project, the film was introduced by Alice Temperley who has collaborated with Disney on the film.
The movie, which is set to have its UK premiere tonight and will be in cinemas on March 5th, took us on a fantasy 3D adventure. The eccentric characters, played by Johnny Depp (The Mad Hatter), Mia Wasikoska (Alice), Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen) and Anne Hathaway (White Queen), added a source of inspiration for a string of designer collaborations.
Need a dose of the Mad Hatter in your life? Tom Binns can help. As the first in a series of designer collaborators, Binns has joined with Disney for a collection of 'Alice in Wonderland'-inspired jewels. The range will launch next year, the same time as Tim Burton's Alice film debuts.
Tom Binns for Walt Disney Signature will feature six high-end pieces, retailing from $1,000 to $2,000 at select retailers and boutiques. If that's too much to spend (it is a recession and all), then consider Tom Binns for Disney Couture. That collection's 35 pieces will sell for $100 to $500, starting next spring.
