Do you feel the call of the runway? Then V magazine and Ford Models' new contest, V A Model, could be just for you.
Aspiring female catwalkers should fill out an entry at the V A Model web page and keep fingers crossed to stand out to the competition's panel of insider judges. Finalists will be announced July 3, and the winner will receive a Ford Models contract and be featured in the magazine.
The 2007 winner, Amanda Laine, isn't doing too badly for herself. She's gotten to walk for top shows like Prada and Alexander McQueen, and she never even had to listen to Tyra Banks telling her to smile with her eyes.

2007 was the year of the blunt fringe. Everyone from Beyonce to supermodel Kate Moss were sporting the severe hairdo. 2008 was all about the cropped look. We saw everyone from Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham to Rihanna taking the chop, trading their long locks for short looks.
So far this year it seems like everyone is reverting back to bangs. Will you?
We all know that being a model is not enough these days. If a model isn't not opening a reality TV show, aka Tyra Banks with America's Next Top Model, she's launching their own clothing line, Kate Moss' line for Topshop being a case in point.
Whilst the likes of Tyra and Kate are getting their entrepeneur on, others have gone down the music route. Last year supermodel Agyness Deyn made her music debut with on "Who" by Five O'Clock Heroes and it looks like Alice Dellal is right being her.
It's no secret that Jay Manuel has silver hair. It's hardly something you can miss. When you say silver hair, it instantly brings back disturbing images of Sisqo in the 'Thong Song' music video but luckily for Mr Jay, he pulls the look off well.
Ever wondered what made him try the daring look?
"I actually did it on a dare from Tyra,” he explained to The Cut. “When we were shooting season one of Top Model, we were talking one night while Flash Gordon was on. I saw his white hair and said, ‘I would love to do my hair that color.’ And she goes, ‘Oh, you should do it right now.’ I said, ‘No, we’re in the middle of taping the show, how are we going to explain this? I promise you the day after we wrap I’ll do it.’ So a week later, after we wrapped the show, I colored my hair. I saw Tyra in L.A. and she said, ‘Ya did it, all right, now that’s your trademark.’”
I am a great believer in fate and I never go out looking for someone dark, fair, commercial, edgy — I really just see who crosses my path. But, height-wise, I would not be looking for anyone under 5' 9"–5' 10". That's the absolute minimum.
Reputed model agent Fiona Ellis, who discovered Alek Wek and Erin O'Connor, tells British Vogue why she doesn't buy Tyra Banks looking for models 5'7" and under on her US reality show
The excitement for Britney's Circus Tour costumes designed by Dsquared2 fails to compare to the anticipation for the unveilling of Thierry Mugler's tour costumes for Beyonce.
Nobel Peace Prize......winning America's Next Top Model. Getting a Nobel Peace Prize.....winning America's Next Top Model.
That was the 'tricky' choice Oxygen TV put to women aged 18 to 34 in a recent poll. Is it bad that I'm swaying the America's Next Top Model side? What is happening to us these days?
In more alarming news, the poll showed that as many as 25% of the women participating would not shave their hair to save someone's life. Now that is bad.
