The latest issue of V has been interesting. First up was that rather cringe worthy cover shoot with Nicole Kidman quickly followed by that topless shoot with Céline Dion and as I reported earlier, Kim Kardashian managed to bag a feature in their latest issue too.
As regular readers will know, I'm generally of the opinion that we can all afford to see a little less of Kim but the Nick Knight-lensed shoot isn't too bad. Rather than going the obvious sexed up look, the shoot is actually pretty beautiful and classic. My only wish is that the styling stuck to the feeling in the above image rather than the fur coat and billowy top looks that appear.
For the first time it looks Kimmy might have a little fashionista in her after all.

Kim Kardashian may still be receieving the cold shoulder from hard core fashion folk but that that hasn't stopped her mission to penetrate (no inuendo intended) the fashion scene. Earlier on this month New York magazine revealed their fall fashion issue fronted by the reality star and she also bagged that big L'Uomo Vogue cover too and now the first image of that Nick Knight shoot for V has been released.
Knight took to Twitter to reveal the preview image from the shoot saying: 'The very lovely Kim Kardashian. Preview from the series of pictures I shot of Kim for SHOWstudio and V magazine.' Kim quickly resonded by retweeting the post with exclamation points. So, what with Kanye West restyling her, I sadly suspect that there's a lot more where that comes from. US Vogue still seems like a definite no but with West by her side, I'm sure fashion doors will begin to open for her and very quickly.

V seem to be celebrating the mature woman in their annual travel issue. As you've probably seen already, Nicole Kidman stripped down (yes, literally) on the cover and she's not alone. In the issue Céline Dion poses in nothing more than a pair of skin tight leather trousers and matching gloves shot in her Florida home.
'I'm like this in my real life,' the 44 year-old told People. 'I was scared a little bit because this is so different for me, but I'm glad I did it. Usually there's always a reason when I do a photoshoot, there's not the opportunity to go crazy.' Unlike Kidman's cover shoot, Dion's actually works. Yes, it's slightly risqué and equally sexed-up but unlike Nicole's, it doesn't feel OTT and attention-seeking purely to make the headlines. And besides, 44 years-old or not, Dion still has it.
Will you pick the issue up when it hits newsstands on August 30?

It's officially that time of year again. The September issues are just around the corner and the first few are already out. As always, Vogue Australia have released their first and stars Bella Heathcote and Numero Tokyo's Candice Swanepoel cover has also hit the net. While both magazines have opted for models, their covers are by no means representative of what you can expect from other titles. All of the rest have gone for celebrities and while that does bug me, the fact that Kim Kardashian doesn't appear on any is a bonus.
As we all know, Lady Gaga has been shot by Met & Marcus for American Vogue, as she continues to drum up attention around her debut fragrance. Glamour have confirmed that they've booked Victoria Beckham to cover theirs and I'm excited. Beckham's covers have been really strong lately and she just might be what the magazine needs after those disappointing covers with Mila Kunis and Amanda Seyfried. InStyle has opted for Jennifer Lopez, Marie Claire have gone for Miley Cyrus, W for Penelope Cruz, Interview for Emma Stone and V for Nicole Kidman.
Vanity Fair's decision to book Jessica Chastain makes sense. The actress looks incredible in statement designer pieces and does old school Hollywood glamour like nobody else. Also good is the news that Gwen Stefani will cover US Harper's Bazaar. Anyone that's followed the magazine since their revamp earlier on this year will know that their covers have been bang on, and their main fashion stories even stronger so I'm sure that's going to be a good'un.

Laetitia Casta certainly holds her her in a photo but in the upcoming issue of V magazine, the model won't be alone. Choupette Lagerfeld, of iPad and Twitter fame, will pose alongside Casta in what will be her modelling debut.
And thing's aren't going too badly for the cat. Earlier on this week Cathy Horyn fuelled rumours that Lagerfeld has created a Chanel bag in her honour and now, what with being a big model and all, she'll have the fame to justify her extravagant lifestyle.

Carine Roitfeld has made no secret of the fact that she's working on her own magazine. Last month she confirmed that her magazine will be released twice a year and will drop in September but not much has been said about who will be involved or how the magazine will look or what the editorial direction will be. Saying that Marie-Amerlie Sauve has been confirmed as being on board but beyond that, nobody else has been confirmed.
What we do know is that the rumours we reported last month about the magazine's publisher was correct. The media group that owns V magazine, V Man and Visionaire will publish Roitfeld's publication and as a result, it will based based in New York, which makes sense sense Roitfeld's pregnant daughter is based in the city.
Are you excited?

I am just about the only person that hasn't fallen in love with the Carine Roitfeld-styled Jennifer Lopez cover for V magazine, but this editorial featuring Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes in the sports themed issue definitely makes up for it. The Victoria's Secret models show off their enviable post-baby bodies in the Mario Testino-shot editorial wearing lingerie pieces styled by Nicola Formichetti.

I hold a great affection for photography couple Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Besides the fact that their both incredibly friendly every time I've seen them at the shows, their work continues to be amongst the most thought-provoking and memorable images in magzines today.
To celebrate their life's work, the pair are launching a new book, 'Pretty Much Everything', which is set for release this month and will chart their work for publications like French Vogue and V as well as their collaborations with houses like Lanvin and Balenciaga. For a whopping $700 you can get 666 of their favourite photographs. Recently the couple sat down with style.com to talk about everything from what it's like working with Lady Gaga and why they refuse to work with models under 18 years old.

Terry Richardson's photographs are everywhere at the moment. His latest work includes a full cover shoot with Beyonce in Harper's Bazaar and he all shot V's all-model November multi-cover but in his latest gig, he's turned the camera around in himself. For Vogue Hommes International's Fall 2011 issue, Richard shot himself in a series of portraits in an editorial called, 'Reinvention', featuring brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Tom Ford.
