Last year Chanel put on a show with their Indian-inspired resort collection at their usual spot at the Grand Palais but today they took their latest collection to the Palace of Versailles. Chanel campaign girl Alice Dellal sat front row at the show along with the usual faces like Vanessa Paradis and Caroline Sieber. Tilda Swinton also attended along with Haider Ackermann.
Having already opted for French beauty Vanessa Paradis in two previous handbag campaigns, Karl Lagerfeld chose Vanessa Paradis once more, this time as the new face of Chanel's Coco Cocoon bag line. "She is the most devine person to work with and to be with. So why change?" Lagerfeld told WWD of his muse, who also stars in the Rouge Coco lipstick ads.
The black and white shoot took place at Lagerfeld's Rue de Lille studio, and sees Paradis draped over a black leather couch looking ultimately cool in a beanie, holding some seriously enviable arm candy - of which is not Johnny Depp, for once. The pair have also collaborated recently when Paradis guest-edited a special edition Cannes Film Festival issue of Madame Figaro, which saw Lagerfeld not only lensing the cover shoot, but also starring in it alongside the French singer/model/actress. The Coco Cocoon campaign will launch in time for June's monthlies, with bags available in stores from the 15th of May.
It looks like Vanessa Paradis can't get enough of Chanel. Today WWD reports that Karl Lagerfeld has confirmed that the singer will star in the Chanel Coco Cocoon handbag campaign.
Paradis, who is currently the face of the brand's Rouge Coco lipstick and is the ambassador for the their handbag line, is set to be shot by the designer himself. The campaign will appear in magazines from June.
