Earlier on his month Katie Holmes confirmed that she is taking her line, Holmes & Yang, to New York fashion week. While the announcement did make it clear that the collection will be showed in a presentation format rather than a runway show, not much was said about the date but now we have more news.

Grazia originally reported that the actress would show on September 9, at the same time as Victoria Beckham but as the dramatic nature of the report suggests, it isn't true. British Vogue confirms that Holmes will actually show on September 12 between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m at the Lincoln Centre, meaning that she'll go head-to-head with Michael Kors whose show is set to begin at 10am.

Considering all the attention surrounding Holmes and the news that her line is going down a treat in stores since her split with Tom Cruise, I'm sure that buyers and editors will make the effort to go to the presentation even if that does mean dashing there before Kors' show starts.

Over the past few weeks there's been copious reports about the Spice Girls reuniting to perform at the closing ceremony. Victoria pretty much confirmed the reports when she tweeted an image of her microphone and yesterday we saw those teaser images of the band rehearings and tonight, it finally happened.

In what was by far the highlight of the night, the girls came out singing 'Spice Up Your Life' and 'Wannabe'. As yet, not all of the credits are out but what we do know is that Victoria sported a black Giles creation, as expected, and Mel. B did her best Beyonce wearing Zuhair Murad.

When Victoria Beckham recently tweeted that she was being fitted by Giles Deacon shortly after posting an image of a microphone, people naturally assumed that the fitting was for The Spice Girls' opening ceremony outfits. It looks like we were all wrong, or at least that's what Mel B's stylist Stephanie Kradjian wants us to think.

Today the stylist took to twitter to respond to the rumours, saying that the reports are false. '@Fashion_Critic_ As @OfficialMelB Stylist I can assure this information is absolutely not true...' she tweeted but that doesn't mean that we should dismiss the reports altogether. After all, this wouldn't be the first time I stylist tried to throw us off the scent.

Do you want to see the girls wear Giles on the weekend?

For the last few months there's been talk about the Spice Girls performing at the Olympics closing ceremony and the speculation was pretty much confirmed last week when Victoria Beckham tweeted a picture of a diamanté-encrusted microphone. Now, with the closing ceremony less than a week away, the big question has now switched to what the brand will wear.

Victoria recently tweeted a photo of Katie Grand's pet rabbit along with the caption: 'Morning fitting with @gilesgilesgiles, cuddle with @kegrand bunny!! X vb.' As yet no confirmations have been made and even if he is dressing Victoria, that doesn't necessarily mean that he's dressing the whole band. If he did, it would make sense. Victoria is hardly ever spotted wearing anything other than her own designs so it's hard to think what else Deacon would be fitting her for and besides, Giles is one of Britain's biggest designers right now so who better to dress the country's biggest girl group on what will undoubtedly be an event to remember?

Victoria Beckham likes to take slow and considered steps when it comes to expansion and the latest one is a foray into prescription glasses. The designer already has a hugely successful sunglasses line so the move makes sense.

'I do need to wear glasses - [but] I haven't found glasses that suit me or that I particularly like,' she told WWD. 'I've always been quite self-conscious, so that's why I've decided to them myself. I've been wearing my glasses now, and it will be nice to see where I'm going for once.'

Kate Moss in British Vogue by Nick Knight

For a while now we've known that Kate Moss will take part in the closing ceremony alongside other big British models like Naomi Campbell and Stella Tennant but even now, it's still unclear what, or who, they will down the runway. The latest issue of Vogue might reveal a clue.

To mark the event and in collaboration with the British Fashion Council, Vogue commissioned Nick Knight to shoot all of the models involved wearing British designers, leading people to speculate that the girls will wear the same brands for the closing event as they wear in the shoot.

In the issue Moss appears wearing a gold encrusted dress by Sarah Burton, as does Campbell, while Stella Tennant appears in Christopher Kane, Lily Cole and Donaldson in Erdem and Vivienne Westwood respectively, Georgia May Jagger in Victoria Beckham and Jourdan Dunn in Jonathan Saunders. I think it's safe to assume that they won't wear the same things but I'm sure the brand choice will be the same.
