Roger Vivier Will Take Part In Fashion Fringe Accessories

Over the last few years, Fashion Fringe has become a highlight and unmissable addition to the London Fashion Week schedule. Some of London's finest including William Tempest, Basso & Brooke, Michael van der Ham and Erdem have all participated in the competiton and now, they're on the hunt for the next big accessories designers.

Today it was announced that Roger Vivier will be the partner of the competition and the brand's creative director Bruno Frisoni will serve as the chair. The winner will join Frisoni for a six month work placement with the brand."I was lucky to be able to follow my dream," Firsoni said. "Therefore for me it is a privilege to play but a small part to encourage our next generation of yound designers to create their own vision - to set out on their adventures with confidence and conviction and with the support of Fashion Fringe Accessories these may become a unique reality."

William Tempest and Kate Moss Join Forces For Sports Relief

You all know that we are fans of Kate Moss and William Tempest so imagine out delight when news of them working together hit our inbox.The pair have joined forces in aid of Sports Relief. Tempest has designed a dress made of Mosquito nets for Moss to model to draw attention to the millions of Africans dying from malaria each year and to enoucrage people to purchase the nets.

“I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria in Africa every 30 seconds, " the designer told Grazia. "That’s why I was happy to be involved in this important project for Sport Relief.” Moss was quick to praise Tempest, saying the dress "which incorporates recycled malaria nets is absolutely gorgeous, I loved wearing it and working with William.”

According to Grazia Daily, the dress will be auctioned off to raise money at a later date

Tempest Designs An Architectural Piece For Disney Princess Tiana

Due to release in March, Disney's new Alice in Wonderland feature seems to be a hot spot for collaborations recently. We've seen Stella McCartney, O.P.I and Paul & Joe get in on the act, however we reported last week that St Martins graduate William Tempest had chosen a different Disney fairytale to work with - the new animated film, The Princess and the Frog.

Starring Anika Noni Rose - who rose to fame through the musical Dreamgirls - Tempest designed a neatly folded turquoise number for the main character, Princess Tiana. Whilst Rose looks the ultimate princess in the sculpted dress, Vogue asked Tempest which Disney character he would love to play - "It would be fun to be the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland for the day, and also Mowgli from The Jungle Book."

William Tempest Creates Some Magic For Disney

Ever since the dreaded 'R' word surrounded our economy, hard times called for fashion to either go back to basics with classic buys to be passed onto eventual grandchildren, or to fight our sad state of affairs by springing back and showing us exactly why we fell in love with fashion in the first place - the fantasy. Disney, then, obviously make the perfect choice for a fantastical collaboration - we've seen Stella McCartney do it - and now ladies and gentleman, William Tempest. The London College of Fashion graduate has designed an enchanting dress for Anika Noni Rose, who stars in Disney's latest animation comedy The Princess and the Frog.

"I was a huge Disney fan when I was younger and absolutely love the films - my favourites have to be The Jungle Book and Snow White, so it is really exciting and a great honour to be collaborating with Disney," says Tempest, adding "The dress I have designed to launch the collaboration is inspired by Disney's new princess Tiana, the dress is very sculptural and constructed from fabric that has been folded like origami." The magical creation marks the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between Tempest and Disney, and will be unveiled at the premiere of the film this Sunday.

Hermoine de Paula Wins Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit Award

Hermione de Paula, the Central St. Martins alumni who graduated with a first-class degree, has been named the recipient of this season's Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit Award for Autumn/Winter 2010-11 season. De Paula takes over from David Koma, who was awarded the Merit for his Spring/Summer 2009, and William Tempest, who has also won the award.

The award is important to up-and-coming designers, as it means that they are able to introduce their creations to the fashion cognoscenti during London Fashion Week. The designer is well aware of what winning the award means, commenting that, "February is set to be a busy and exciting time for me with my first standalone catwalk show at London Fashion Week and the launch of my Spring/Summer 2010 collection at Browns Focus."

We're excited to see what Ms de Paula will have to offer come February, but given that in the space of one season she has risen up the ranks from 'One To Watch' to fully-fledged Merit award winner, we imagine that this is certainly not the last we will be hearing of Hermione de Paula and certainly not the last we will be seeing of her quirky yet elegant designs.
