As if being blessed with the beauty and mile long legs of a successful model wasn't enough, the fairytale that is Coco Rocha's life story continues as details of her blissful engagement to interior designer James Conran emerge. Already, the date is set for a not-so-far-away 9th of June, and so the Canadian model/presenter/designer doesn't have long to get things organised. Good job then, that her designer of choice for the all important gown is already whipping up sketches.
"Mr Zac Posen is the best!" Rocha tweeted yesterday. "I met with him to discuss wedding dress designs and immediately the sketches were flying... So exciting!" she continued. The pair have kept a friendship ever since Coco modelled for Posen's collection both on the runway and in his campaigns, and even attended the New Yorker's for Children dinner dance together. With not long left until the big day, Posen best get sewing, we can't wait to see the final gown.

Agyness Deyn had a pretty good 27th-birthday week. Besides all the festivities for New York Fashion Week (OK, she fell twice at Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief, but still), she accomplished a major milestone in her budding film career. Her first movie, 'Mean to Me,' premiered, and her co-star Linus Roache (of 'Law & Order') called her "a natural" who is "full of emotional depth." Adds Roache, who grew up in the same village as Deyn: "If she wants it, she has a great movie career ahead of her."
'Mean to Me' is a '30s-style noir-art short, just more than 20 minutes long, based around a courtesan (Deyn) and her recently financially ruined lover (Roache), as they brace themselves for the Great Depression in Manhattan. "He's forced to break up with her," director Peter McGough said. "And he's very straightforward, very practical when he tells his lover he's marrying someone else to keep his finances going. From there, it gets darker."
If Deyn wants to leave fashion behind, she's chosen a very fashion-focused film to do so. Her film's wardrobe is exclusively Zac Posen, and the film's art director, Robert Bryan, formerly served as men's fashion director for The New York Times. The film, which McGough and Bryan made painstakingly sure looked historically accurate, is now playing in New York and will run in Vienna later this spring.

For those of you who have invested in the gorgeous camel hues of SS10, we bring good news. Desert shades of sand, khaki and stone were awash the runway of Zac Posen, in an array of short skater dresses, ladylike blouses and wide-legged, flowing trousers. Hemlines were kept short on Posen's speciality party dresses, with figure-hugging silhouettes and an old-Hollywood glamour about the designs.
There was, however, a lack of the extravagant ball gowns that he usually sends down the catwalk, though he made up for this with some extravagant, fur-embellished winter coats. Further into the collection came a wash of greys and then red, until the collection came to a high with a succession of flirty, floral patterned mini dresses in rosey tones, all perfect for the Christmas New York party scene.

Canadian beauty Coco Rocha has made a few swift transformations recently - from model-in-demand, to reporter, to fashion designer - but it seems that though you can take the model off the catwalk, you can't take the catwalk instinct out of the model. Whilst reporting on New York Fashion Week for NYCtv Life, The Cut managed to catch a few words with the formerly flame-haired model, who told them that though she loves her new ventures within the fashion scene, there really is nothing like the catwalk.
She said: "A year ago when I got to sit and watch most of the shows, it was a surreal feeling. But as much as it is fun sitting here, when the music starts I’m like, ‘I wish I was on that runway."Aside from missing the adrenaline rush that the catwalk brings, Coco can't help but defend her fellow models, "Sometimes a girl will come out and people start to murmur, and you hear them say things, and you’re like, ‘Shh! Shut up! I’d like to see you try!'"

On Tuesday, the CDFA hosted an evening at Milk Studios and brought together a panel of insiders to discuss the future of the industry. Zac Posen, casting agent James Scully and Dutch model Doutzen Kroes got together to discuss the weight issues facing models today. Entitled "The Beauty of Health: Resizing the sample size," the evening saw the trio giving insight into the debate at hand, and the things aspiring models do in hope of forging a successful modelling career.
Scully claimed that he could "open up any magazine or got to any show and tell you what girls are taking Adderall, how many girls are taking Vicodin, how many girls are throwing up - girls are really resorting to dangerous things." If that wasn't enough, Kroes told of how she was a victim of the industry, too. She said: "I probably fit the sample size once, when I was eleven or twelve. It became a problem - I was always told lots of times that I should lose weight...'You look great, but you should probably lose a few pounds.'"

Lindsay Lohan's cover for Purple magazine's 13th issue is finally out. We had expected to be faced with a scantily clad or perhaps even a 'raunchy' Lilo, but instead the image, which was leaked on the Fashion Spot, sees Miss Lohan looking serene, dressed in a long, white, bat-wing sleeved, floor-length Zac Posen dress. Always keen to set tongues wagging, Lohan strikes a pose channelling Jesus on the cross and completes the look by donning a crown of thorns a la JC himself.
The behind-the-scenes video, which shows Terry Richardson at work on the shoot, shows a different side to Lohan. Wearing look 23 from Alexander McQueen's SS10 underwater/alien-inspired collection, she comes across as being a little nervous and in need of direction from Richardson. Eventually he gets her to loosen up a little by suggesting she try screaming, though even then, LiLo still shows signs of uncertainty and perhaps even embarrassment. Let's just hope she bounces back to her usual self soon - after all she's still got a lot of work to do if Ungaro will ever come back from all those negative reviews.

Zac Posen has never been one to keep quiet about his opinions, so it just happens that when Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief at Harper's Bazaar, hosted a dinner celebrating Cartier's 100th Anniversary last April, Mr Posen decided to pull up a seat close by, and explain why he was less than happy with her. His disdain came about after the magazine - which rarely features Posen's designs - had asked for him to appear in a spread with Sesame Street's Muppet The Count, who happens to look somewhat similar to the designer, with a shared tendency to wear black.
“I didn’t want to model with the Count,” Posen explained. “She said that was the only way my clothes could be in the magazine as a non-advertiser. I think she was surprised I wouldn’t take the part, but I stood my ground and I still do.” Maybe after an unfortunate succession of layoffs last year, however, and a constant turnover of executives, Posen might be regretting his decision.
