Madonna And Arianne Phillips Talk About The Costumes In 'W.E'

While the critics have never been particularly positive about Madonna's film pursuits, the quality of the costumes in her directorial debut film, 'W. E', has never been in dispute and it's not difficult to understand why. She has long-time stylist Arianne Phillips to thank.

In line with the film's release on DVD and Blu-Ray today, Fashionista released an exclusive behind-the-scenes video where Phillips and Madonna talk about the ideas behind the costumes that you see in the film as well as the different designers and brands involved.

The Yoox Group have e-commerce mastered. Their main site, Yoox.com, is one of the key players in online shopping and thecorner.com continues to grow in popularity. Last week the company launched Shoescribe, a website dedicated to all things shoes. 'From our twelve years of experience in e-commerce, we know shoes are the undisputable bestsellers globally,' Federico Marchetti, founder and CEO of Yoox Group, said in a release. 'As such we wanted to dedicate an online space entirely to shoes but also to really focus on service and a unique way to shop online.'

And that's what makes the site so good. Shoes from all of your favourite brands like Opening Ceremony, Acne and Alexander Wang are available in a really tight but good edit - and that's not all. Like Net-A-Porter and Moda Operandi, the site also focuses on strong editorial content. Take the opening video for example. Arianne Phillips appears talking about her relationship with shoes over the years working on movies like Madonna's 'W.E.' and offers a handpicked selection of her top five shoes available on the site. For fans of street style shots of shoes, the site also features a section called 'footage' which showcases the best 'feet-style' shots from fashion week and if you have a question, simply go to 'Ask Susie' where all of your shoe dilemmas will be answered.

Alice Temperley Wins Big At The Hollywood Style Awards

2011 has been a good year for Alice Temperley. International interest in the designer hit the roof after Pippa Middleton's endorsement of the brand at the reception to the royal wedding and Pippa made an appearance at her S/S12 show back in September.

This year also marks the brand's 10th anniversary and the launch of her debut book, 'True Brit' but it doesn't there. The designer was recently named Designer of the Year at the 2011 Hollywood Style Awards Gala and rightly so. Other winners on the night include Arianne Phillps who walked away with the Costume Designer of the Year award, Chloe Moretz who was named as One to Watch and the Kylie and Kendal Jenner who were were presented with the Stylish Sisters Award.

Lily Allen Confirmed As Judge For ELLE's Shopgirl To Stylist

Now in its closing stages, it feels like a long time since ELLE announced the launch of its competition, Shopgirl to Stylist - the magazine's search for the next international styling talent from London's shop floors. Since we last spoke to the team, the hopefuls have been taking part in numerous tasks set out by the ELLE team and have now been whittled down to 10 finalists.

This week, the magazine announced that Lily Allen and her sister Sarah Owen - who have just launched vintage clothes boutique, Lindsay in Disguise - will join Lorraine Candy on the judging panel on November 2nd in an X-Factor style final. Also on the panel are Giles Deacon, Ben Grimes, Arianne Phillips and Katie Hillier.

When you think about established stylists, I am sure the name Rachel Zoe is the name that springs to mind first, right? However, stylist Arianna Phillips is known in the industry as the stylist of choice for both great costume design and personal styling. Not convinced? Just have a look at Phillips' CV, which reads like a who's who of the fashion and entertainment industries. For the past decade, she's worked as Madonna's stylist, designing and styling her last four concert tours, and counts the likes of Courtney Love and Justin Timberlake as fans.

W magazine recently interviewed the woman herself, discussing everything from why she chose that Victoria Beckham dress in the W editorial to what sunglasses Madonna wears in a lot of her shoots.
