Kate Upton is having quite the fashion moment right now. Despite the queue of critics, with 10 magazine's Sophia Neophitou right at the front, she's not doing too badly. Carine Roitfeld gave her new found success the seal of approval by booking her to cover the debut issue of CR Fashion Book and now she's bagged another big cover but this time for the October issue of Jalouse.
In the magazine, where she was shot by Alexi Hay, the model touched on her experience of the fashion world describing it as 'clique,' and there's some truth to that. To me Upton has that Kim Kardashian factor. While I'm totally for seeing more diversity in magazines, the purist in me doesn't like her new found presence in fashion magazines. And besides, the fact she counteracts every positive step by appearing in a video on Terry Richardson's blog appearing scantily clad doesn't help either. That aside, she does look pretty beautiful in the cover shoot.
It's no secret that LOVE's Issue 6 has been a success. Their multiple covers featuring everyone from Elle Fanning to Lara Stone had us all waiting in anticipation to firstly hear the confirmed cover line-up, and then to see them final images.
Covers aside, we're currently in love with an editorial, which features in the issue starring Alessandra Ambrosio. The Victoria's Secret model looks unrecognisable. The last time she appeared in the magazine she was styled in her usual pin up-sex symbol way but for their latest issue, Ambrosio does her best sailor impression in this masculine, navy-inspired shoot.
Much was made of Tavi Gevinson's first styling gig being featured in Blackbook but the 10 page editorial, shot in New York, is finally here so you can make up your own mind.
Just because we know you've been missing Aggy as much as we have, here the model is in the forthcoming issue of V magazine. As The Cut points out, we haven't seen Dean in many editorials since she shaved her hair off early on in this year but hopefully this signals the start of an editorial comeback.
Kanye West's "foxy bald girlfriend" (Derek Blasberg's words) has just made what could be a big career move: signing with a modelling agency. Ford's new girl probably will have her image plastered all over something or other quite soon, if her go-getter boyfriend has anything to say about it.
What should her first campaign or editorial be? Or do you want Rose on the runway?
