Last night MTV played host to their annual Video Music Awards. Winners on the might include Katy Perry who won the award for Best Video of the Year, Lady Gaga who won the award for Best Female Video and Beyonce who walked away with the award for Best Choreography for 'Run the World (Girls)'.

Despite the stellar performances on the night, that's not what everyne left talking because all eyes were on Beyonce as the 29 year-old star used the event to announce that she's expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z. The mother-to-be shone on the red carpet in a bright orange aysmetric Lanvin dress. Other strong looks came from fellow Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez.

Magazines have really suffered this year. Fact. Today WWD confirmed what we all expected - sales for all the major titles were low with Vogue and Allure being the only exceptions.

As always, it's all about the covers. Vogue have Lady Gaga to thank for the magazine selling a whopping 100,000 more copies  than the same issue in the previous year as well as Rihanna for her successful April cover. As we previously reported, Kim Kardashian's August cover served Glamour very well too despite their overall sales drop. Adweek put Vogue's success this year down to Anna Wintour's increasing visibility and the fact that consumers are spending money on luxury items again is definitely helping.

After Kim Kardashian was spotted leaving Vera Wang's boutique a few weeks ago, we all knew that it was pretty much a done deal that Wang was designing her wedding dress for her pending nuptials to Kris Humphries but yesterday it was confirmed.

Kardashian used her blog to announce that, like her sister Khloe, she's picked Wang to make her big dress. “I am so excited to reveal that Vera Wang is my wedding dress designer,” she wrote. “Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years, so when it came to picking my wedding dress designer she was the first person I thought of. No one designs gowns the way she does!”

They've dressed you in their various clothing lines, created somewhere for yout to shop and tried to help you get in shape with their Shape Up and Quick Trim deals and now they want to make sure that you're nail perfect. Just when you thought that there was nothing left for the Kardashians to attach their name to, they go and find something.

Yesterday the sisters (minus Kim) held an event to introduce beauty editors to their new line of nail varnishes with OPI's sister brand, Nicole by OPI. Named Kardashian Kolors - natually - the line features 14 different shapes inspired by Kim, Kourtney and Khloe as well as younger sisters Kylie and Kendal and mom Kris.

Nicola Formichetti with Daphne Guinness

Race and weight are always controversial subjects and Nicola Formichetti has found himself in the middle of a controversy in relation to the latter.

After W released an article on him expressing a 'distaste' of overweight people, the stylist has hit back explaining that the writer miscontrued what he said. “I know i should just leave it but…i really hate when writers just write whatever they want… ‘i dont work with fat people…’ why would someone say such a thing?!” Formichetti said on his Twitter this week. “You dont need to be skinny to look gorgeous!!! heres another favourite picture i created for v magazine. dont believe everything you read on line please….” And he didn' stop there: “ok. im going to stop.. but one last thing. lol . just so you all know i just worked with beth ditto and also another iconic non-skinny person for the next issue of VMAN with steven klein so dont read everything you read on line – love you all.”
