Despite frenzied rumours of a split-up, Marc Jacobs and his partner Lorenzo Martone confirmed that they're still together by stepping out on the red carpet. The two posed for photographers at the ninth-annual Spring Fling party at Hiro this Saturday, where celebs in town for the Costume Institute Gala were out in full force.
It seems the Met Ball itself was another platform for proving relationships between celebrity couples. Sienna Miller and Jude Law were photographed together at the event, and Gwen Stefani posed with Gavin Rossdale, with whom Courtney Love had claimed to have an affair. Do we need more red carpet events to keep our couples together?
A couple of months ago we were all talking about Marc Jacobs getting married to his long time partner Lorenzo Martone and it looks like his CEO, Robert Duffy, is joining in on the fun. Duffy is set to wed Alex Cespedes next Tuesday, who he met on a blind date last summer. And it seems that Duffy couldn't be happier. “My friend had been telling me, ‘This guy is perfect for you,’ ” he said . “Literally, I walked into the restaurant and said, ‘I hope it’s that guy over there.’ I sat down and it was great. He’s the love of my life and a wonderful man.” Unlike many, the couple have opted for a simple intimate wedding with a guest list of only 86, with Jacobs confirmed as best man.
Lorenzo Martone - who recently set up a model-only boutique PR company with clients such as Lydia Hearst and Alessandra Ambrosio - is currently exploring the realms of swimwear. The Cut reports that Martone and Jules Kim designer of Bijules jewellery are working together on her debut swimwear line, which is "in development." Although Kim plans to launch the line next spring, we're still not precisely sure of the role Martone is playing. But we expect that the way in which he'll marry the two aspects of his work (models and swimwear), will be something worth watching.
Maybe Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone did more than tote their Birkin bags and Louis Vuitton towels around St Barts over the Christmas holiday. Guest of a Guest and Stylexperts have claimed the two married during their island retreat, and since Jacobs mentioned last April that a December wedding in St Barts could occur, that would make sense. The happy couple are sporting major heavage in this picture from the Caribbean, but they are indeed glowing, and then there's that cake with miniature versions of the men on display. Sounds like a wedding, right?
Maybe not. A source close to the couple told The Cut that Jacobs and Martone didn't wed in St Barts, but rather art dealer Larry Gagosian held an engagement party for them. If that's true, then we still want an explanation for the cake.
There's nothing like spending your Christmas Eve with loved ones, never mind spending it with your fiance on a St Barts beach, a la Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone. The adorable couple increased the envy-o-meter when they appeared on Saline Beach, equipped with Louis Vuitton towels, Marc Jacobs swimwear, and last but not least - a Hermes Birkin in replacement for a beach bag.
Before his departure to St Barts, Jacobs told StyleList his plans for the romantic break - "I plan to read, eat well, go to the gym, lie on the beach, swim, maybe jet ski and that's about it, really", as well as admitting to only buying one present this year - reserved for Martone, who tweeted of his enjoyment. "in St Barts - the sun shines, the swimming sucks and the sex... ahn the sex.... :)."
Lorenzo Martone has joined forces with Elite's former marketing director, Ryan Brown, to create a boutique PR agency for models. The agency, whose clients already include Alessandra Ambrosio, Jessica White and Lydia Hearst, aim to "build equity around the girl's personality".
According to The Cut, the duo aim to help the models broaden their horizons and branch into acting, singing and enterainment roles.
Lady Gaga expectedly took a lion's share of the attention at Monday's ACE Awards, what with her Victorian-style lace face cover and boudoir hotpants, but it was Betsey Johnson who was flashing her rear by the end of the night. (Apparently, in partnership with the shoe e-tailer Zappos.)
Also at the event, Erin Wasson gave us an Angelina Jolie-effect BBD (big black dress), Marc Jacobs struck a pose with Lorenzo Martone, and Agyness Deyn showed us that false lash after false lash on the bottom lid might just be the next trend.
