Vanity Fair's annual Hollywood Issue cover is always good but this year's offerings is my favourite. The pull-out cover stars Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins, and Brit Marling.
Shot by Mario Testino, the actresses appear in an Art Deco set which was designed 'to evoke the all-white, Jazz Age interiors of English decorator Syrie Maugham, whose clients included Bunny Mellon, Elsa Schiaparelli, and the Duchess of Windsor', the magazine explained.
Mia Wasikowska isn't the only actress bagging a big campaign, as Balenciaga have confirmed that Kristen Stewart will serve as the spokesperson for their new fragrance set for release this fall. “Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” Nicolas Ghesquière told WWD.
Although Kristen has been frank about not being into fashion, the brand has always been one that she's been aware of she told the title. “Balenciaga has always stood out to me. Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga," she said. “It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now." She continued: “The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”
Just when we thought we had seen all that the Spring/Summer 12 campaigns had to offer, today Miu Miu released these images starring Mia Wasikowska. While the casting might surprise you, we had a suspicion that the Australian actress could be working with the brand after she was seated front row at their Spring/Summer 11 show next to Hailee Steinfeld who, of course, became the face of the campaign for that season. While I like Miu Miu for always choosing interesting campaign subjects, this is one of my least favourite campaigns from them.
Mia Wasikowska likes all things romantic and her appearance at the premiere of 'Jane Eyre' in Sydney last week was no different. The actress chose this off-white above-the-knee dress with gold detail teamed with simple hair and make-up. The black open toe heels spoiled this look for us but you might disagree.
Mia Wasikowska of 'Alice in Wonderland' made it to the Independent Spirit Awards this weekend in Fall '09 Rodarte. (She chose catwalk Look 2, originally worn by Heidi Mount at New York Fashion Week.) Carey Mulligan, star of 'An Education', wore the same Fall '10 Christopher Kane dress as model Carla Gebhart just showed off at London Fashion Week.
We've already shown you a picture of Anne Hathaway's version of the White Queen from Tim Burton's remake of 'Alice in Wonderland', and now we bring you the official trailer. You can see a first look of fashion's current favourite actress at 0:39.
The new 'Alice in Wonderland', also starring Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska, will hit screens on March 5, 2010. Will you be watching?
