Whitney Port Is The Latest Judge On Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model

Since 'The City' was dropped from MTV, we haven't seen much of Whitney Port on the small screen but that's all about to change. This week Port confirmed that she will join Elle Macpherson and Julien Macdonald on the judging panel of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model.

"I'm thrilled about this new opportunity in my career and I am honored to have been asked to work alongside industry icons who I truly respect and admire," she wrote on her blog on Monday. But she isn't the only American joining the panel this year as Tyson Beckford has also been brought on board as the two replace Grace Woodward and Charley Speed who were on the panel last year.

Last night MTV played host to their annual Video Music Awards. Winners on the might include Katy Perry who won the award for Best Video of the Year, Lady Gaga who won the award for Best Female Video and Beyonce who walked away with the award for Best Choreography for 'Run the World (Girls)'.

Despite the stellar performances on the night, that's not what everyne left talking because all eyes were on Beyonce as the 29 year-old star used the event to announce that she's expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z. The mother-to-be shone on the red carpet in a bright orange aysmetric Lanvin dress. Other strong looks came from fellow Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez.

The Failure Of Her Line Was Due To MTV, Says Lauren Conrad

Despite using MTV to elevate her profile both on 'Laguna Beach' and her show, 'The Hills', Lauren Conrad has again spoken out about the damaging effect the TV show had on her credibility as a 'real' designer.

"It's easier to launch the line without MTV," she told Lucky magazine. "A lot of people in fashion don't want to be linked with anything that has to do with reality TV. Showrooms were turning us down." MTV passed on her reality spinoff that documented the launch of Paper Crown. Conrad says, "It's difficult to compete with all the 'Jersey Shore'-type shows," adding, "besides, there weren't any scenes of me getting drunk or fighting, so what's the point?"

Although that may be true, something doesn't quite sit right with us about Conrad's blame game finger pointing because after all, the endorsement deals and fashion line would never have been possible without the show. And besides, if the reality show was damaging on her fashion career, why did she pitch for a spin-off to push her new collection?

Kelly Cutrone Has Two New TV Shows In The Works

Now that 'The City' has been cancelled, and now that Kelly Cutrone has said 'Kell on Earth' won't come back to Bravo for a second season, there's a gap in the market for Cutrone TV. Don't fear if you're a fan of the small screen's snarkiest fashion publicist. Although Cutrone told The Cut she's "done" with reality TV, she did say: "I’m doing a television show that I’m on that’s not scripted, but it’s not based on me running around and sharing my personal life in my office and in my home.” Confused? Us too.

She explained more about the show, which will run on MTV and reportedly have a pilot finished in January: “I think it’ll be me more working with young people who want to be in these different industries, so it might be something like, you know, you look like a fashionista but you’re not, you look like a skate dude but you’re not, you look like a hotshot entrepreneur but you’re not, maybe you should walk the walk. So it’s, like, part Great Santini, part fairy godmother.”

And since Cutrone is used to a two-show TV presence, she also revealed that she has a “syndicated daytime regular big thing” in talks. She remained vague on the details but did say that her book (If You Have to Cry Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You) had a large part in opening the next doors in her career.
