Emma Watson's Style Set Free Since Harry Potter Wrapped

Ever since Emma Watson revealed her new pixie cut after she wrapped up the filming of the latest Harry Potter film, we knew we'd be in for a treat on the film's promotional tour with her new look. At the film's London premiere, Watson wowed fans in a black lace Atelier Mayer feather dress and has since been spotted wearing standout trench coats from the Burberry Bespoke collection.

So what's with the new look? "When I got the chance to dress myself, I was so thrilled to be able to be Emma and show a different side of myself," she told WWD about the change. This is the first time since she began the role that her style has been able to shine through she explained. “I mean, I just wasn’t allowed to do anything: wasn’t allowed to cut my hair, put on nail varnish, tan, wear a bra that made my boobs in any way look [larger], have any flesh showing, wear any makeup when I was playing Hermione. I always had to back-comb my hair — ‘She looks too pretty, take down the blush or the mascara, take it off.’ Fashion was my rebellion.”

Emma Watson Celebrates The End Of Harry Potter With New Look

This week Emma Watson chopped off her long locks in favour of a Victoria Beckham-like pixie cut. The actress told Entertainment Weekly that she's been thinking about the change for a long time but hasn't been able to due to filming 'Harry Potter'.

After filming of the movie finally wrapped up she decided to take the plunge. “The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out,” she told EW.com about her hair stylist Rodney Cutler. “I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.’” And after a few days since going for the shorter style, she's still happy with her decision. “It was the most liberating thing!…I love it,” she said.
