The tragic unfoldings of the Haitian earthquake is something that has undeniably rocked the world recently, and so charitable relief foundation, Fashion Delivers has issued a plea for designers and stores alike to donate lightweight apparell, underwear, socks, sheets and shoes to the victims of the epidemic. The foundation, which has been running for four years now, distributes excess clothing to needy people across the world, and have already got stores signing up to donate.
Bird, a Brooklyn based retailer have agreed to donate clothes on sale, and will also donate 10% of their sales from this week to the cause. It's hoped that many more will join forces with the organisation to aid the masses of people affected by this natural disaster, and with Sean Combs and Russell Simmons amongst the board of directors, they should have no problem doing so. However, if you would like to donate, visit www.fashiondelivers.org
Only the Parsons School of Design can bring in a guest list of the who's who in the fashion and entertainment industry. At their 2009 Fashion Benefit last week, the fashion school honored Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa.
