Selena Gomez has been out and about this week promoting her new film, Spring Breakers, which she stars alongside Vanessa Hudgeons and Ashley Benson. Earlier on this week she wowed in that black and gold Dolce & Gabbana dress but last night she went all glam in this Atelier Versace dress.
Gomez tends to be a bit hit and miss on the red carpet and sadly this isn't one of her best looks. The excess fabric on the hips drown her tiny frame but otherwise, the hair and make are pretty as usual and she finished the look off with strappy Sergio Rossi shoes, a Judith Leiber clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.
Yesterday this image of Selena Gomez on the cover of Teen Vogue's big September issue dropped and while a high res version isn't currently available, from what you can see in the image above it doesn't look too bad.
This is the second strong cover the singer has had recently. For July she covered US ELLE wearing a strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress in what is definitely my favourite cover from her to date. That said, Gomez felt like the wrong match for the magazine considering the average age of their readers so for that reason, her Teen Vogue cover makes a lot more sense.
I've never been a huge fan of US Elle's covers and sadly, their Kristen Stewart June cover was noticeably weaker than the actresses over covers this month. For July, though, they're on good form. For the issue Selena Gomez takes centre position wearing a strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress on one cover and a Balmain top on another.
The shoot is just as good as the cover and sees her looking all grown-up wearing brands like Lanvin and Yves Saint Laurent. In the accompanying cover story she talks about all the things you would expect, ranging from her relationship with Justin Bieber to trying to fight the 'Disney' image.
While the cover works, it does leave you asking questions. Granted, Gomez has a huge loyal following but as Coco's Tea Party points out, that audience is completely different to Elle's readership so why they decided to book her for the cover is a mystery.
Last night MTV played host to their annual Video Music Awards. Winners on the might include Katy Perry who won the award for Best Video of the Year, Lady Gaga who won the award for Best Female Video and Beyonce who walked away with the award for Best Choreography for 'Run the World (Girls)'.
Despite the stellar performances on the night, that's not what everyne left talking because all eyes were on Beyonce as the 29 year-old star used the event to announce that she's expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z. The mother-to-be shone on the red carpet in a bright orange aysmetric Lanvin dress. Other strong looks came from fellow Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez.
Selena Gomez split opinions in this Burberry dress last night to attend the 22nd Annual MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto. Although the dress is beautiful, many questioned whether it was an appropriate choice for the 18 year-old singer.
Last night MTV hosted their annual Movie Awards in Universal City, California. Despite the A-list guests - Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon and Leighton Meester were all in attendance - the red carpet outfits were disappointing.
Last night the Nokia Theatre in L.A. played host to the 2011 People's Choice. Jennifer Aniston presented Adam Sandler with the award for favourite comedy actor and Jackie Chan was awarded the title as favourite action star, which went to Johnny Depp last year. As expected, 'Twilight' was the big winner of the night receiving three awards and Kristen Stewart walked away with the big favourite actress gong.
While the fashion world has all moved to New York for fashion week, celebrities were all in Los Angeles to attend the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards last night.
Last night Katy Perry hosted the 2010 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Inspired by Twilight, who bagged 12 awards on the night, Perry went all Vampire-esqe donning a black leather dress, dark lips and a long black wig. Amongst the singer's six outfit changes was a prom queen look.
