Cast your mind back to January and you'll remember that photo I posted showing what looked like Kristen Stewart holding up the middle finger behind Karl Lagerfeld's back. The pair were together at the time as the designer was directing her for Vanity Fair's July cover and now it's finally here.
The actress, who is known for sporting trainers with her gowns on the red carpet, looked transformed in what is definitely the most glamorous we have ever seen her. Naturally then the cover line reads, 'Kristen Stewart: Twilight's punky vampire gets an ultra glam makeover.' The accompanying editorial also touches on the flack she's received for her appearance and miserable expression. She told Vanity Fair‘s Ingrid Sischy:
I have been criticized a lot for not looking perfect in every photograph. I get some serious shit about it. I’m not embarrassed about it. I’m proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think, What an actress! What a faker! That thought embarrasses me so much that I look like shit in half my photos, and I don’t give a fuck. What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, ‘She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest.’ I don’t care about the voracious, starving shit eaters who want to turn truth into shit. Not that you can say that in Vanity Fair!
Robert Pattinson defends her in the piece. 'People have decided how they are going to perceive her,' he told the magazine. 'No matter how many times she smiles, they'll put in the one picture where she's not smiling.'
Aside from being a great actress, Ashley Greene never disappoints in the sartorial stakes and brands are paying attention. After securing her first big cosmetics contract for Mark, the actress is now branching out into fashion as she has been confirmed as the face of the DKNY and DKNY jeans S/S12 campaign.
"I've always loved Donna Karan's creations," Greene said in a release. "To be part of the brand's message is incredibly exciting because it feels like such an organic fit. It's easy to talk about how these clothes work fr my lifestyle, whether I'm in New York, L.A. or travelling for work." And bosses at the brand could be happier with the partnership with the 'Twilight' star. "Ashley embodies everything DKNY - her energy, her spirit, her eclectic personal style," Patti Cohen, vice president at Donna Karan, said. "She is at the forefront of what it means to connect with a global fan base through social media, a focus that is aligned with our digital and new media initiatives."
For the September cover story for Wmagazine, Kristen Stewart is unrecognisable. The 'Twilight' actress, known for her tomboy aesthetic and scowl-ly attitude, was all 60s glamour in the cover story shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
The cover marks Edward Enninful's first issue for the magazine and if it's anything to go by, there are a lot of exciting developments coming from the magazine in the near future.
Last night Katy Perry hosted the 2010 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Inspired by Twilight, who bagged 12 awards on the night, Perry went all Vampire-esqe donning a black leather dress, dark lips and a long black wig. Amongst the singer's six outfit changes was a prom queen look.
Designers Rachel Roy and Nicole Miller both attended The Cinema Society Screening of 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' this week in New York. Roy opted for this soft feminine look whilst Miller sexed it up in this strapless dress and black heels.
You'll have to pick between an actual prince and the prince of vampires for our BAFTA-night men's style competition. Both Prince William and Robert Pattinson hit the red carpet looking their black-tie best.
