In response to the difficulties that come with vintage shopping, Sophie Merchant, founded the Merchant Archive now available on her online boutique which holds a selection of jaw dropping vintage gems, enough to make any vintage cognoscenti go weak at the knees.
Merchant Archive was born in 'a lipton general store....which served as a hub for stylists, celebrities and designers alike'. The online archive however, means that vintage fans worldwide can access the vast range of stock.

Balenciaga Resort Is Willing to Take Risks
Nicolas Ghesquiere based some of Balenciaga's Resort 2010 collection on the brand's archives - Cristobal Balenciaga designs from the '50s and '60s - but as for the bulk of his imagination, we got refreshing and new. Screw the economy; Ghesquiere was out to prove his creative prowess.
All we can say is that with skirts as short as he took them, we're glad we write about and dress models rather than walk the runway.

Stevie Nicks moment: My brother and I - and a bunch of stoned 50-year-olds - witnessed this woman twirl on stage at a Tom Petty concert a few years ago, brushing some sort of cape as she jangled her tambourine like she was trying to flick off her own wrist. A tween playing with a beach ball asked who "the lady in the muumuu" was.
