New York Fashion Week is officially in full swing. During fashion month it's easy to forget that there is life outside the shows but just like fashion, Hollywood doesn't stop and this morning we're all waking up to a big story. According to People magazine, fashion favourite Blake Lively tied the knot with Ryan Reynolds in a secret wedding over the weekend.
A source confirmed to the title that the couple got married last night just outside of Charleston. According to the source, Florence Welch, who Lively met on the set of 'Gossip Girl', performed three songs at the event. As yet there's still no word about who designed her wedding dress but it's pretty safe to say that it's either Frida Giannini at Gucci or Karl Lagerfeld.
Christopher Bailey keeps a pretty low profile outside his role as Burberry's creative director but word seems to have slipped that he's reportedly set to marry English actor Simon Woods next month. The couple, who met back in 2009, will allegedly tie the knot at Chelsea's register office this week to maximum of 38 guests and all of this comes shortly before he shows the brand's S/S13 collection.
Giambattista Valli may not have designed Margherita Missoni's wedding dress as was reported at the time, but he definitely designed Elettra Wiedemann's. Over the weekend the model tied the knot with British business consultant boyfriend James Marshall and wore a silk cocktail dress with a short Swarovski-encrusted skirt, according to Vogue.
Valli, what with his love of drama and romance, would definitely be up there on any woman's list of dream designers to design the dress for their big day but for the couple, having the designer involved was more sentimental. According to the title, it was actually Valli who introduced the couple five years ago before a London benefit. The rest is history...
Drew Barrymore tied the knot with art consultant Will Kopelman in a traditional Jewish ceremony over the weekend. Images of the happy couple kissing in the car leaving the reception dropped earlier on this week but today People magazine released their exclusive images of the ceremony and Chanel wedding dress that Karl Lagerfeld reportedly designed specially for her.
From the cover image it looks like the dress came with a high ruffle neck teamed with a black waistband over her baby bump. 'The day was perfect,' she told People the day after the wedding. 'Everyone we love and care about was there. It was as fun and meaningful as we ever could have hoped.'
If you were left with question marks after Isabeli Fontana publicly confirmed her relationship with Rohan Marley, you were not alone. Even more peculiar is the fast pace the couple's relationship is going. In a recent interview with Veja magazine, the Brazillian model revealed that the pair are planning a wedding.
While they haven't picked a date, they have allegedly decided on the location - Ethiopia. 'Rohan told me we have to return to the roots so the marriage will last forever,' she told the magazine. Fontana's mother on the other hand, isn't too happy with the pace. 'I think everything is happening too fast,' she told the magazine, 'but everything has a different rhythm with Isabeli.' And she's right. If she does go ahead with getting married to the father of Lauren Hill's five children, he will be her third husband and she will be his second or possibly third.
It's been a long time coming but today Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally announced that they are getting married. When I first heard the news on Twitter earlier on today I didn't believe it - after all, I've lost count of all of the engagement rumours that have come and gone in the past - but the reports are true this time. Pitt's manager confirmed the news to The Associated Press today saying that while the wedding date has not been decided 'at this time' the engagement 'is a promise for the future.'
Naturally then, everyone's attention has turned to the ring. According to reports, it was designed by Robert Procop who teamed up with Jolie on her charity jewelry line in the past. The release from Procop's people said:
Following the first sighting of Angelina Jolie’s engagement ring at the private view of the new Chinese Art collection at the LA County Museum on 12 April 2012, Robert Procop confirmed that the ring was created by him, in collaboration with Brad Pitt, for Angelina Jolie.
Working closely with Brad Pitt to realise the star’s vision for the ring, Robert Procop was able to source a diamond of the finest quality which was then transformed using Pitt’s unique designs, cut with distinctive faceting to a shape and size that perfectly suits Angelina’s long, slender fingers. Throughout, Brad Pitt remained heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design process from the perfect cut of the diamond centerpiece – an elongated tablet shape – to the finishing touches such as the mounting of a galaxy of smaller stones which are graduated in size and faceted to match, adding a crowning lustre to the ring. The full creative journey – from conception to completion – took a year, with Brad Pitt waiting until the perfect moment to unveil this special jewel to Angelina Jolie.
Which designer do you want to see her get married in?
2011 has been the year of the model wedding. Kate Moss, Anja Rubik and Lily Aldridge have all got married this year and now Snejana Onopka has joined them. Last week the model tied the knot with 29-year-old businessmen Mykola Schura wearing Vera Wang in front of less than 40 guests, according to Fashionologie. "It was very traditional," Onopka said of the ceremony, . "I've never been to weddings. This is the first wedding I attended, and it's mine!"
News of Kim Kardashian's pending divorce to Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage is everywhere and nobody appears to be shocked. Instead attention has been drawn to the feeling amongst the likes of Lorraine Schwartz and Vera Wang who were offered products for the former couple's wedding for free.
Fashionista spoke to Jo Piazza, celebrity journalist and author of the forthcoming book, 'Celebrity, Inc.: How Famous People Make Money' to discuss the impact that the news will have on the brands that were so keen to place products with the pair. “What I am starting to hear is that those vendors [who participated in the wedding] are pissed and they should be,” she said. “Especially someone like Vera Wang who pretty closely aligned her personal brand with Kim’s in the wedding special. This wedding was very obviously a publicity stunt and a money grab by the Kardashian family. The divorce will tarnish their brand, E!’s brand and even some of the vendors who participated in the circus.”
Sorry Will and Kate but this is the wedding that we have all been looking forward to see. Most September issue covers have dropped but American Vogue have been keeping us hanging in the lead up to the big reveal of Kate Moss' cover and wedding photo feature and now it's finally here.
Wearing a beautiful purple McQueen dress on the cover photographed by Mario Testino, the cover story was written by the models friend, Vogue editor Hamish Bowles, who perfectly depicts the highlights of Moss' big day. As he sas, you can feel the love.
After Kim Kardashian was spotted leaving Vera Wang's boutique a few weeks ago, we all knew that it was pretty much a done deal that Wang was designing her wedding dress for her pending nuptials to Kris Humphries but yesterday it was confirmed.
Kardashian used her blog to announce that, like her sister Khloe, she's picked Wang to make her big dress. “I am so excited to reveal that Vera Wang is my wedding dress designer,” she wrote. “Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years, so when it came to picking my wedding dress designer she was the first person I thought of. No one designs gowns the way she does!”
